Pokemon Sword and Shield: Where to Find Clawitzer and Dragalge
Many Pokemon from previous titles have returned to the Pokedex in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield's Isle of Armor DLC expansion. Two of the Pokemon that have returned to be caught properly are Clawitzer and Dragalge.
Before making their reappearances in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, these two Pokemon originally made their debut in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Clawitzer was exclusive to Pokemon X and Dragalge was exclusive to Pokemon Y.
Like in their debut games, these two Pokemon are version exclusive, with Clawitzer appearing in Pokemon Sword and Dragalge appearing in Pokemon Shield. Here is how to obtain them in their respective games in the Isle of Armor DLC.
Clawitzer is a pure water-type Pokemon and the evolution of Clauncher. Meanwhile, Dragalge is a dual poison and dragon-type Pokemon and the evolution of Skrelp.
In Pokemon Sword and Shield, players can find the Pokemon of their specific game version by surfing in the following locations in the Isle of Armor:
- Workout Sea
- Stepping-Stone Sea
- Insular Sea
- Honeycalm Sea
- Honeycalm Island
Players should note that these Pokemon have an appearance rate of 1%, making them extremely rare to come across. Fortunately, players can additionally find them at five-star Max Raid dens in these places:
- Workout Sea
- Stepping-Stone Sea
- Insular Sea
- Honeycalm Sea
Both of these Pokemon are capable of making very strong additions to players teams thanks to the wide variety of moves they can learn from leveling up, as well as through TMs and TRs.
If players want a slightly easier way of obtaining these Pokemon, their pre-evolved forms can also be found in the surf locations listed above. Clauncher is a pure water-type that evolves into Clawitzer at level 37 and Skrelp is a dual water and poison-type that evolves into Dragalge at level 48.
Due to these Pokemon having a low spawn rate, it could be nice for players to breed these rare Pokemon to give out to friends and strangers for a nice surprise. Dragalge is in the Water 1 and Dragon Egg groups while Clawitzer is in the Water 1 and Water 3 egg groups. Both Pokemon lines have a 50/50 gender split.
Pokemon Sword and Shield and the Isle of Armor expansion are out now for the Nintendo Switch.
