Reverse Horror Game Carrion Gets Violent Animated Launch Trailer
One of the most highly anticipated downloadable games of the summer, Carrion, is now available. The Devolver Digital-published horror game launched released on Thursday, July 23, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To coincide with Carrion's release, Devolver and developer Phobia Game Studio put together an awesome animated trailer introducing the game's premise.
Carrion is being described as a reverse horror game, in that instead of playing as the victims of a horror event players take on the role of the monster itself. As the game progresses, the monster grows in size and power, much like a horror film. Or more specifically, much like The Thing, the film which Carrion takes much of its inspiration from.
In the animated trailer, players get a firsthand look at the horror experience of Carrion. Except instead of being from the monster's perspective, like in the game, it's from the victims' perspective like normal. Something has gone very wrong in this underground installation. The monster is loose, and worse, the monster is winning.
The Carrion launch trailer was made by CRCR, part of the Wizz team. This isn't the first time CRCR has worked with Devolver Digital. It also produced the awesome launch trailer for My Friend Pedro, and it's led to other work in the gaming industry as a result, with an animated trailer for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
Carrion is available now on PC, Switch, and Xbox One.
