Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Pro Reveals Awesome Season 5 CR-56 AMAX Loadout
Since Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone started, there has been some serious re-examining of weapon usage amongst the pros on the scene. After a couple of nerfs to the Bruen MK9 and the FAL, players are getting creative and trying out new builds. Twitch streamer Nick 'Nickmercs' Kolcheff is sampling some new assault rifles, and tells his viewers not to sleep on the CR-56 AMAX.
Much like fighting games and their character tier lists, a Battle Royale game like Call of Duty: Warzone has weapon tier lists. Pros set the trends for which guns rise to the top, because they play hours a day, and really get a feel for what works, and what doesn't. For instance, the new ISO SMG has already been reviewed by a number of pros, who have taken it to its max level to determine its viability. It's not easy for a gun to be dethroned from the top of the tier list, just look at the MP5 and its dominance of the SMG category. So when a pro, looking to shake up their gameplay, stumbles across a new build they really like, people take notice.
Nickmercs is one of those pros looking to try out some new loadouts in Season 5, and he's come across what he thinks is a winner in the CR-56 AMAX. The assault rifle has one of the fastest TTKs—Time To Kill— in the game, only slightly behind the RAM-7. Nick points out that the magazine size is a limiting factor, but if a player can hit their shots, the gun will do damage. While a number of best weapons in Warzone lists ignore the CR-56 AMAX, Nick thinks it could slide in nicely in the upper tiers.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
Season 5 has been a bit unstable in many respects for Warzone players, with many affected by a major graphical bug that was fixed in the 1.25 update on August 15. Coupled with the shake-up of the weapon tier list, there's a lot going on in the world of Warzone.
Many pros, Nickmercs included, have been annoyed by the issues, but are sticking with the game, to craft new loadouts for their viewers to try, and scouring Verdansk looking for the many Easter eggs strewn about the area.
It's hard to say if the CR-56 AMAX build will catch on, there has to be a really good case for many players to abandon their tried and true favorites, but this powerful loadout might just sway a few players.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
