The sunshine and the burst of energy in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, Rikku is the Al Bhed girl who just wants everyone to be happy and to smile. She's definitely one of the most memorable of the silly, funny and peppy party member characters in the Final Fantasy franchise.
Often recognized by her spiky, braided hair and her love for all things orange and bright, Rikku's not just a pretty face; she's handy and doesn't mind getting her hands dirty. Protective of her friends, she's garnered quite a few fans, which is why so many amazing cosplays of hers are out there.
10 By The Beach
This super photogenic moment by cosplayer gnitae looks just like a screenshot from Final Fantasy X-2, which introduced of one Rikku's more famous outfits. Her thief dressphere became a whole internet phenomenon, and is among the most popular cosplay outfits.
Gnitae really brings this dressphere together with all the small details from the utility belt to the double blades that she's holding. Even the ombre scarf looks just like Rikku's from the actual game.
9 The Real Rikku
Anyone can make a fantastic costume with hard work and dedication, but it's always a bonus if the person showcasing the costume actually manages to look exactly like the character in question. It's certainly what cosplayer Taylor achieves with her thief Rikku dressphere costume.
The wig and the makeup work here is so stunning that there's no question about this being a very true-to-the-original costume. The belt with pouches also looks real and almost a bit worn, giving it a nice, immersive appearance.
8 Lady Luck
Lady Luck is just one of the unique dresspheres included in FFX-2, but the look is definitely not easy to pull off as the clothes drape on the character's body. The costume can easily look cheap if there's not enough attention paid to detail.
Cosplayer Traumblume, however, nails it with this Rikku Lady Luck costume. The background with the cards just plays more into the authenticity.
7 Berserker
When thinking about dresspheres of Rikku that would be fun and easy to make, the berserker definitely isn't the first that comes to mind. It requires a ton of skill to pull off.
Cosplayer Jenni didn't take any hostages with her costume as all details and props are perfectly executed. The headpiece in particular clearly takes effort to make.
6 Young Al Bhed
Good old FFX Al Bhed Rikku is one of those classics that fans love to see brought to life. Cosplayer Jess successfully understood that while the costume itself is pretty simple, it's the relevant details and everything around it that really make it Rikku's outfit.
The wig is absolutely gorgeous and pretty much identical to Rikku's actual hair, right down to the hairpins. The makeup as well just changes Jess' face to have a more Rikku-like shape and shading.
5 Your Friendly Neighborhood Gullwings
Every dedicated fan will recognize the classic pose of Rikku standing atop the Celsius with her hair flying in the wind and Yuna and Paine in the background. While it's impossible to capture this essence down to every single detail, one cosplayer got pretty close.
Cosplayer andaira29 easily turns into Rikku with the background, but the costume itself is incredibly well-made, too.
4 Chin Up
Another superb tribute to FFX's Rikku, it's cool to see the full costume featured. While the clothes themselves are definitely close if not spot-on for Rikku, the best part has to be the hair.
Cosplayer Elena R. did an excellent job at this costume, and the background only serves to make this look pop.
3 Black Mage
Another really cute dressphere from Rikku is her black mage outfit. She has definitely the best costume out of the three main girls in FFX-2, which is why it's a fairly common choice for fans of the franchise. Still, it's no easy feat to pull it off.
Regina Chu, however, went all in with this costume. The colors are spot-on, as are the details in the sleeves and stockings. What's more, Rikku's staff looks very well-made, as if it's from the game itself.
2 Gun Mage
The gun mage is yet another unique dressphere from FFX-2 that introduced more challenging outfits for cosplayers to recreate. These costumes tend to be tight and close to the body like the Lady Luck ones, so they easily look out of place if not fitted properly.
Axel, however, looks splendid and natural in the costume, topped with the perfect wig. The gun itself has been painted with significant amount of detail.
1 Disasterrific!
The classic thief costume just captures everything about Rikku perfectly; it's playful and cute, all at the same time.
In Nelly Laufeyson's costume, one of the best parts has to be the scarf, which is handmade and still manages to have a really nice ombre effect. The shoes as well look exactly like Rikku's, and the messy wig with braids is the cherry on top.
