Fall Guys is Getting Team Fortress 2 Cosmetics | Game Rant

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is one of the most buzzed-about summer games right now, and it's getting an official crossover with an old fan-favorite hero shooter. Valve and Mediatonic joined forces to release a Team Fortress 2 Scout skin in the Fall Guys Steam store.

Fall Guys' huge surge in popularity has caused some issues for the game, with tons of players meaning tons of server issues as tech support struggles to keep up with the numbers. However, Mediatonic was quick to give out apology gifts to players in the form of in-game currency and the Legendary Prickles skin that transforms players into cacti. Now, only a day later, fans are getting another cool skin that calls back to an iconic character in a great game.

Given the popularity of Fall Guys, it makes sense that many brands are asking for crossovers, and Mediatonic is once again honoring Valve's games. Those who pre-ordered the game on Steam got to turn their beans into Gordon Freeman wearing a Headcrab in an homage to Half-Life. Unfortunately, that cosmetic was an exclusive, but all players will get the opportunity to deck their beans out in the red shirt, wrapped hands, dog tags, and ballcap/earpiece combo that TF2's Scout is known for.

The wacky skins are one of the best parts of Fall Guys, and are proven to be a popular way for fans to pay homage to favorite video game characters or public figures, like the Dr Disrespect Fall Guys skin fan mock-up. It turns out there's a surprising amount of variation and customization that can be created in a game about little bean-shaped creatures.

Half-Life was arguably the more popular Valve game, but many fans know and love TF2 and will be excited to see one of their favorite old shooters combined with a hot new game. Sadly, the skin doesn't give players a Boston accent and a baseball bat, but cosmetics have their limitations. While they're very different games, both Fall Guys and TF2 are silly and at times outright hilarious, with Scout's domination lines making his sense of humor something many Fall Guys fans will appreciate.

With Mediatonic's quick response to the server issues and promise to put solving maintenance problems as a top priority, the future is looking bright for this colorful battle royale. Hopefully, fans will get even more cool skins and cosmetics to add to their beans, with more homages to classic video games that Fall Guys players love.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is out now for PC and PS4.
