Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Bug Causing Operator's Thumb To Block Sight on AK-47
After a recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update players noticed something off with the AK-47 model. A strange bug has appeared that is affecting operator hand posture on certain weapons causing an unintended side effect. Modern Warfare fans are not sure how many guns are affected but at least one has been confirmed.
The bug changes the position of the hand when holding a gun on specific weapons. Basic firearm training teaches soldiers to hold a rifle with two hands, which often provides additiona stability and improves the overall accuracy of the soldier. Modern Warfare operators seem to have their own style of holding their guns, and it is disrupting fans' ability to aim down sights.
The issue mainly revolves around the AK-47 assault rifle with no other guns being reported for the moment. In the video posted to Reddit, the player is wielding a red AK-47 with a foregrip attachment. Despite this, the operator is wrapping his hand around the body of the gun ahead of the grip, causing his thumb to line up perfectly with the sight of the weapon.
The operator's hand posture makes it difficult for even the most advanced player to aim, with the problem becoming even worse when mounted onto objects. Aside from the fact that the operator should not be holding his gun this fashion, it seems like an odd bug to appear in Multiplayer.
One advantage of this strange hand posture is the clear line of sight a player has to the operator's watch. If a player was using the mini-map watch, or a similarly useful accessory, they would have a clear sight of it at all times to the item. Whether seeing a watch all the time is worth the inaccuracies of a thumb blocking ADS sights is up to each player, but there is no doubt that this bug needs to be fixed.
For the time being, players are simply avoiding the AK-47. If other guns become affected by this bug, players will most likely avoid them as well, for the sake of their killstreaks and K/D scores. Modern Warfare is a game that prioritizes accuracy and speed, having a thumb blocking ADS aiming at all times can put players at a severe disadvantage.
Players who encounter this glitch are recommended to capture footage of it in effect and submit it to Activision. By submitting bug reports, and posting clips to varying Activision social media platforms, fans have a higher chance of receiving a quick patch. Activision has made it known that the development team does read fan feedback, so players are advised to use their observations as a way to fix in-game problems.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
