Conan Exiles Expansion 'Isle of Siptah' Announced | Game Rant
Conan Exiles, the 2018 multiplayer survival game, is receiving its next full-fledged expansion. Introducing the Isle of Siptah, a massive expansion that adds an entirely new map to Conan Exiles and fills it with all manner of exciting new content. Isle of Siptah will be available in Early Access on Steam starting September 15. It'll retail for $19.99 to start, with plans to increase the price at full launch in early 2021 when it'll also be launched on PlayStation and Xbox.
As for what kind of content Conan Exiles fans can expect, Funcom's already shared some early information. In addition to the new Isle of Siptah map itself, the new Conan expansion includes a variety of new enemy types, two new building sets, a rhinoceros mount, and new vault, storm, and surge features, too. With the amount of new content, playing Isle of Siptah will be like revisiting an entirely new game.
For fans of the Conan the Barbarian comic, the Isle of Siptah has a direct tie to a story written by L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter. In the story "The Gem in the Tower" Conan ventures to a mysterious nameless isle. Within a tower on the island lies a mystical jewel guarded by an evil sorcerer named Siptah. Naturally, everything goes wrong and Conan is left battling for his life against Siptah's magic, including a winged demon. He discovers his way into Siptah's tower nonetheless, only to find something all the more surprising.
To build some excitement for the upcoming release of the Isle of Siptah expansion, Funcom is trying to bring back as many players as possible to Conan Exile. From now through September 14, Conan Exiles is free-to-play on Steam. Funcom is clearly hoping that setting food in the world of Conan Exiles will be enough to persuade players to be part of the first wave of Isle of Siptah players via Steam Early Access.
Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah launches in Early Access on September 15 on PC, with a full release on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox planned in early 2021.
