Resident Evil 8 is Getting a 30+ Minute Showcase at TGS 2020
Of the many horror titles being developed for next-gen systems, a lot of genre fans are excited for Capcom's Resident Evil 8. Many members of the gaming community have had their eye on this game since its initial announcement, and have since been trying to find any and all additional information regarding Resident Evil 8. Now, it seems fans of the series won't have to wait too much longer to get more updated details.
The Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is just a few days away, and companies have already begun to announce what games will be shown off at the event. Sega and Atlus revealed the lineup of games that both companies will feature at TGS, alongside plenty of other game studios. Apparently, Capcom has a lot in store in terms of Resident Evil 8 content at the yearly event.
Capcom is scheduled to feature a two-hour long showcase on Sunday, September 27 during the Tokyo Game Show. Of that, about 30 minutes will take the form of a presentation or in-depth explanation of the game's story and mechanics for Resident Evil 8, followed by a talk with special guest Eiko Kano. There is no clear indication whether there will be a complex gameplay demo like with Resident Evil 7.
In any case, this is big news for anyone who has been looking forward to this game. Up until now, the bits and pieces of information that have surfaced in terms of Resident Evil 8 have come from the game trailers, which are creepy in their own right but don't offer a lot of concrete details in terms of the larger story. Hopefully, whatever this presentation focuses on, it will offer insight in terms of what fans can expect.
Resident Evil 8 is not just a big game for many fans of the series, it is a big game for Capcom as well. Resident Evil 7 is the second-highest selling Capcom title, according to recent sales figures, and is the best-selling Resident Evil game to date. Thus, the company is likely feeling the pressure in terms of delivering a sequel on the same scale as the previous game.
With any luck, Capcom will manage to deliver an impressive and unnerving experience. Ever since Resident Evil 8's initial announcement at the PS5 reveal event in June, many in the gaming community have been anticipating its release. Hopefully, more concrete details regarding the game will be revealed at TGS 2020.
