Steam Game Festival is Back With Hundreds of Demos | Game Rant
The increasingly popular Steam Game Festival is back for autumn, bringing with it a new selection of hundreds of different game demos. But this season's Steam Game Festival isn't stopping at demos. For the duration of the event, Steam will also be featuring live presentations, developer interviews, and playthroughs of Steam Game Fesitval games. The Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition will last from now through October 13 at 10:00 am.
Like with previous Steam Game Festivals, the event is primarily for indie games and not titles released by bigger publishers. About the biggest title with a demo available is Observer: System Redux, which will also be coming to next-gen systems later this year. Otherwise, indie games like Everspace 2, Stronghold: Warlords, Ghostrunner, and the physics-based party game Party Animals have the hottest demos of the event.
As for events, Valve's lined up several developer demo live streams for the next week. Examples include a Hexagroove: Tactical DJ dev house part tonight at 10:00 pm PT, the debut of Stronghold: Warlords beta gameplay Thursday morning at 9:00 am PT, a Friday developers stream with Manifold Garden creator William Chyr, and tons more throughout the weekend and into next week.
The best part of Valve's Steam Game Festival, a gift from all of the indie devs to their potential fans, is that all of the demos are entirely free. And even further, all features games are tentatively planned for release in the next six months. It's a great opportunity to peruse some of the hottest upcoming indie game releases in 2020 and beyond, without having to pay for admission.
The Steam Game Festival runs from now through October 13 at 10:00 am.
