10 Best Quotes From Spider-Man: Miles Morales | Game Rant
Spider-Man: Miles Morales released earlier this month and fans have been loving the game. Taking place after the events of Marvel's Spider-Man, the story follows Miles on his journey to becoming a hero just as responsible as Peter Parker. He fights against the Underground and their leader, the Tinkerer, as well as their enemies, Roxxon. Trying to stop the fight between the two groups was a difficult task that changed Miles' life.
Though the story mostly focuses on the titular hero, there are many great characters. Some of them were seen in Marvel's Spider-Man and players got to see what they have been up to while others are new to the series and instantly became fan favorites. The majority of them had great lines that players will probably remember for a long time.
10 "I've Been Taking On A Lot More Responsibilities Than I Can Handle Lately. Made Me Push My Friends Away. But I'm Here To Fix That."
After Miles reunited with his old friend, Phin, the two wonder why they stopped being so close. He finds out that she is the Tinkerer and confronts her about it, pretending to want to join the Underground and work with her to avenge her brother against Roxxon. When she asked him why he grew distant, this was his response, hiding the fact that he is the spider she despised.
9 "My Mom Would Be Very Upset."
When Miles and Phin fought each other, she grabbed him and slammed him down on the top of a building. Ready to end her enemy, she brought her blade to his head and said "Give me one good reason not to end you." This was his response as he removed his mask, finally showing her who he really is.
8 "People Get Stupid When They Care About Someone. Like You're Being Stupid Now."
When Miles learned that his uncle Aaron was the Prowler, the two teamed up. Aaron already knew that Miles was Spider-Man and wanted to help him, even though the two had opposing ideas on what needed to be done.
Aaron was the one that convinced Miles to pretend to want to join the Underground and help Phin. While Miles considered telling her the truth, Aaron thought it was a bad idea.
7 "Whenever You Say 'Spider-Man,' You Always Mean The Other One. You're Spider-Man. You Can Fix This, Your Way."
Miles received a lot of help from his best friend, Ganke, throughout the game. After being blamed for the destruction of a bridge, Miles feels bad and wishes that he could do more to help, comparing himself to Peter. Ganke was able to get his friend to stop doing this and helped him become the greatest hero that he could be.
6 "I'm Not Gonna Let People Die Just To Save My Skin. You Underestimated Me."
Trying to protect Miles, Aaron kidnapped his nephew and held him as his prisoner. Though his intentions were to make sure that he wouldn't lose any other members of his family, Miles couldn't accept letting others die as he did nothing. He broke out of the cell and fought the Prowler before confronting him about the true value of family and telling him that he would do everything he could to save Harlem.
5 "You Know, After My Parents Died, Rick Basically Had To Become My Dad. I Thought I'd Miss Having A Brother, But I Had You."
As they escaped from Simon Krieger and the rest of Roxxon, Phin asked Miles if he ever thought about telling her that he's Spider-Man. When he didn't respond, she told him how important he was to her. Though their conversation didn't end due to members of Roxxon attacking Miles, he and the players did learn how much he meant to her.
4 "You Give Me Strength, Miles. That's All A Hero Really Is. Someone Who's Brave For The People They Love."
In order to keep her from worrying, Miles tried to keep his mother from finding out that he's Spider-Man. However, she eventually saw him with his uniform on and the truth came out.
He told her about Phin being the Tinkerer and how Harlem was in danger. Helping her son save the day, she realized how much Miles reminded her of his father, Jefferson.
3 "I Told Your Dad The Truth. Thought He'd Have My Back, Hoped He Would Be My Brother And All. Instead He Cut Me Out. If I'd Kept My Mouth Shut, Maybe I'd Still Have A Family."
When he told Miles that he shouldn't reveal his identity to Phin, Aaron used Jefferson as an example of why some things should be kept secret. Once Jefferson learned that his brother was the Prowler, he stopped treating him like a brother, costing Aaron his family. Aaron didn't want Miles to feel that pain and kept on doing what he thought was best for his nephew until the end of the game, where he helped save Harlem and learned what it really meant to be a family.
2 "Don't Make Me Kill You. You Can't Win. Why Do You Keep Fighting?"
At the end of the game, Miles and Phin fight, knowing that they wouldn't be able to compromise on their goals. When she says these words to him, he replies "Because I'm Spider-Man" — finally accepting that he is just as heroic as his idol. Knowing that he has what it takes to be a hero, he saves Harlem alongside Phin after she learns that he was right all along. She sacrifices herself for Miles and the others, returning to her brother.
1 "Our Family Doesn't Give Up. You Know That."
Family is always important and this game is no exception. Everything that Phin did was to avenge her brother, Aaron earned back the love of his nephew, and Miles got closer to his mother. After the battle between Roxxon and the Underground at the start of the game, Rio refused to quit the campaign, which surprised Miles. She said these words to her son and proved that she meant them as she never gave up, just like the rest of her family. Jefferson would be proud knowing that his loved ones saved the day.
