Assassin's Creed Valhalla 'Odin's Hootenanny' Celebration Stream Planned For This Week
The latest title in the long-running Ubisoft franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla releases in one week as a launch title for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as on current-gen platforms. In celebration of the upcoming release, Ubisoft has planned a digital variety show called Odin’s Hootenanny, which will begin on Friday, November 7, at 9 a.m. Pacific time.
The celebratory event will feature a few online media outlets and will be hosted by Danny Wallace, who has written and acted in a number of Assassin’s Creed games dating all the way back to Assassin’s Creed 2. Odin’s Hootenanny will include game shows, discussion panels, and challenges to showcase the upcoming action roleplaying game.
Odin’s Hootenanny will include a variety of events to celebrate all things Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

- BAFTA presents The Art of Storytelling: Host Elle Osili-Wood will speak with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s narrative director Darby McDevitt to explore storytelling in the game.
- Xbox On presents Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on the Xbox Series X: An extended gameplay reveal of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla running on the new Xbox Series X.
- Modern-Day Flyting: English rapper and songwriter Dan Bull, well known for his songs about video games and other topics, will face off with rapper and actor Lethal Bizzle in a modern-day flyting contest, which was a poetic competition of the 15th and 16th centuries analogous to today’s rap battles.
- A Very Viking Gameshow: Finishing off the celebration of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s upcoming release, some of the UK’s best-known presenters and content creators will be divided into two teams. Bex Bomb, Elle Osili-Wood, Gav Murphy, and Marcus Bronzy will go head-to-head in a series of Viking-themed challenges such as axe throwing and a game of Kerplunk, all overseen by a real raven named Loki.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the 12th major installment in the video game franchise that was born in 2007. The latest title is set in 873 AD and recounts an alternative version of the Viking invasion of Britain. Gamers will visit a number of real-life locations in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on the journey from Norway to England, as they embody Eivor, a Viking raider who gets caught up in the ceaseless struggle between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on November 10, followed by a PS5 release on November 12.
