Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Weapons May Be Added to Warzone Sooner Than You Think
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be seeing all its content integrated into Call of Duty: Warzone starting on December 10, but it seems like the weapons will be entering the battle royale earlier. If a message of the day in Warzone is to be believed, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns could be arriving as soon as the latest Black Ops launches.
Black Ops Cold War’s integration with Warzone is helping to ensure that the future of the CoD franchise looks bright, a new message of the day in Warzone states that integration will be starting on November 13, as opposed to the previously announced date of December 10. Per the official post, “Any weapons unlocked in Black Ops Cold War” will be usable within Warzone come Black Ops Cold War’s launch day.
While features like the prestige ranking system of Black Ops Cold War will not be coming until later on, this developer message is still exciting for Warzone fans. Fan-favorite weapons like the AK-74u making their way to Verdansk could shake up the gameplay quite a bit. While it is unclear if the Black Ops weapons will also be found in crates around the Warzone map come November 13, players should at least be able to equip the guns to their loadouts.
However, it is worth noting that this could have just been a typo in the daily message. After all, Warzone integration was said to kick off when Black Ops Cold War season one begins, directly against the wording of this post. While it is certainly possible that integration may begin a bit early, this news should still be taken with a grain of salt by Warzone fans.
The Warzone weapons may be arriving just for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players in November, for all players in November, or for no players in November — with it still being a possibility that the message of the day has a typo and means nothing. Much like Warzone’s rumored Alcatraz island addition, eager fans will just have to wait and see if this news pans out.
Regardless of whether the message of the day proves true, Activision is clearly serious about Warzone’s integration with new Call of Duty releases. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War less than a week from its official launch, Warzone players may soon be dropping into a map heavily covered in 1980s weaponry.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be available November 13 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
