Destiny 2 Prime Gaming Rewards to Continue Through 2021
Twitch has had some excellent partnerships with video games in 2020, providing in-game rewards for Twitch Prime Gaming subscribers to claim. Perhaps the best example has been Twitch's partnership with Destiny 2. Bungie's put together a ton of great rewards, including an incredible selection of Exotic loot. The bad news is that the previous series of Destiny 2 rewards on Twitch recently ended. The good news is Bungie's partnered with Twitch again to do another 12 months of Destiny 2 rewards.
Bungie confirmed the extension of its Twitch Gaming partnership on its official website this past week. Twitch Prime Gaming subscribers will be able to claim 12 months of Destiny 2 rewards starting now. Each month another reward pack will be made available to claim. If subscribers don't claim the rewards, then at the end of each month they'll lose the opportunity. These limited-time rewards ensure Destiny 2 players stay subscribed to Prime Gaming for the full year.
Rewards from Twitch Gaming aren't anything to ignore, either. They're largely Exotic cosmetics, things that definitely have value compared to other potential loot. There's even an opportunity to earn Exotic weapons, though some may decry that as a pay-to-win situation. They aren't exclusive Exotics, by any means, so players hopefully won't be worried too much about Twitch Gaming subscribers getting an advantage. In fact, none of the rewards come from the current Destiny 2 Season, they're all throwback rewards.
The first month of the new Destiny 2 Prime Gaming rewards has already gone live, offering a selection of loot that interested parties can use as a baseline. In November's loot drop, Prime Gaming subscribers received an Unchained Exotic Emote, a Regal Howl Exotic Sparrow, a Transpose JT-24-X Exotic Ship, and an Arch Shell Legendary Ghost. Bungie describes it as a Seasonally-themed bundle of rewards to coincide with the start of the Season of the Hunt. This first reward will be available through December 23.
In order to redeem the rewards, players need only go to the Destiny 2 Prime Gaming website, claim the reward after connecting Twitch to their Destiny 2 account, and then go speak to Amanda Holliday in the Tower's hangar. Amanda will hold onto all of the player's claimed rewards in her inventory until the player chooses to redeem them.
Altogether, it's a great way for current Amazon Prime subscribers to get some fun Destiny 2 rewards for no extra trouble. There are other Prime Gaming rewards to consider, for those who don't already have a subscription. Things like free games each month, other DLC rewards, and a free Twitch subscription each month. Or maybe some Destiny 2 players may think it's worth it for the loot alone.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
