Fall Guys Dev 'Confident' Season 3 Will Have More New Levels
As one of the most successful games to release in 2020, Fall Guys has had to contend with the byproducts of that success rather rapidly. From requests for new levels to new skins, developer Mediatonic is doing its best to keep up with the demand for content.
Recently, Fall Guys Community Manager Oliver Hindle teased the plan for Season 3 of the popular game. According to Hindle, Fall Guys Season3 will have more levels than in Season 2.
Hindle made the comments on the Fall Guys subreddit, where players are constantly sharing their hopes for improvements and additions to the game. Even though a decent amount of time has passed since the launch of Fall Guys, there is still a voracious community that is thirsty for more. And based on Hindle’s comments, it sounds as though Mediatonic is in a better place to deliver than it was with Season 2.
"The team is confident that Season 3 will have more levels than Season 2. We've grown a LOT since launch with people joining the studio every week now. We're investing a lot in growing the team and have huge plans for the game moving forward. We're really committed to improving it over time and filling it with new content"
Despite the excitement surrounding Season 2 of Fall Guys, there was some disappointment over the lack of genuinely new levels. Mediatonic did add new mechanics, obstacles, and blockers to many of the existing levels, but some argued that was only a half measure. One of the key points of criticism was that the game didn’t add a new final round for Season 2, which was seen as the biggest missed opportunity. Going for the crown in Fall Guys is arguably the most satisfying experience in the game, but some want new challenges in the quest for that unique reward.
The studio recently brought on new talent in order to help deliver content faster, and it seems to be working. Next week, Fall Guys is set to launch a new update that will add a new level called Big Fans. This obstacle-style course will see the Fall Guys “beans” trying to make it across a series of circular spinning platforms that have spaces cut out between the “blades.” Based on the early look that Mediatonic offered, Big Fans looks to fall in line with the design sensibilities of the game at large, while still offering something new.
Coincidentally, Big Fans was not originally intended as the only new level for this mid-season update, but Mediatonic decided to delay the remaining content for Season 3. Among those delayed additions is a new final round for Fall Guys, which should be pleasing news for fans. Other inclusions planned for next week include more obstacles added to existing levels, a small hammer obstacle called Lil Yeety that should complement Big Yeetus, a revamped naming system, and a lot of bug fixes.
Fall Guys is available now for PC and PS4.
