Tekken 7 Season Pass 4 Release Date Announced | Game Rant
Fans of Bandai Namco's long-running Tekken franchise will get even more out of its current entry Tekken 7 with the release of its fourth season pass. After revealing Tekken 7 Season Pass 4's trailer in September, the Tekken Project team officially narrowed down its previously vague fall 2020 release date today, and players can get their hands on its contents soon.
The next season pass will officially begin rolling out on November 10, according to a tweet from the official Tekken social media account. Its first set of additions include the "Manji Ninja Arts" user Kunimitsu as a playable fighter with at least three unique costumes, marking her first appearance since Tekken 2 in 1995; as well as a Japanese-themed stage called Vermilion Gates.
There will also be a number of updates available to all players starting November 9. All Tekken 7 fighters are receiving new moves and balance changes, menus and in-match health bars will get updated UIs, and the team is focused on enhancing online play for the fighting game first released in 2015. Players will also be able to work their way up to a new rank called "Tekken God Omega."
Another highlight in Tekken 7's Season Pass 4 trailer today is content celebrating Pac-Man's 40th anniversary, including a themed arena stage with a statue of the arcade icon in the background, as well as exclusive items such as an equippable t-shirt, plushies, and UI skins. Other major names have celebrated Pac-Man's anniversary this year, from virtual band The Gorillaz releasing a Pac-Man song and music video to Hasbro creating a version of Monopoly featuring an arcade cabinet.
At the end of the trailer, the Tekken Project team also confirms that the second part of this season pass including another new character and stage will be released in spring 2021. Bandai Namco's roadmap for Tekken 7 Season 4 was leaked prior to its official announcement, but now that it is preparing to start fans are getting a better idea of when they can expect more.
Luckily for the developer, there are undoubtedly a lot of fans ready to get their hands on more fighting game content. In September, Series Director Katsuhiro Harada announced Tekken has collectively sold 50 million copies, and over six million of those sales have been for Tekken 7. Time will tell whether a fourth season pass will cause those numbers to climb even higher.
Tekken 7 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
