Godfall's Aegishorn Valorplate Looks a Lot Like a Power Rangers Villain
Godfall is available now and attempts to usher in a new style of looter game it has called a "looter-slasher." On top of that, though, Godfall is a beautiful game with a unique design to its Valorplates. They're based on and inspired by the signs of the Zodiac, with the Cancer seemingly being attached to the Aegishorn.
Described with a "scarab's shell," the Aegishorn feels in uniquely with the rest of the Godfall universe, but it may look familiar to some fans. While Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers hasn't been on the air in years and the titular Power Rangers have gone through a dozen (or more) iterations, it may not be immediately apparent to some. Looking closely, however, makes the Aegishorn look a lot like Lord Zedd, although it's not exactly a 1:1.
Again, it's not exactly a 1:1 and it's worth mentioning that Lord Zedd has had some slight changes over the years as well. The more classic the look for him, the more it looks like Aegishorn. The Valorplate also has some tendril-like appendages coming out of its back that Lord Zedd lacks, but with this in mind, the comparisons between the two are simple enough to see. For example, both characters have a horn emerging from their forehead, which is part of a mask that consumes their entire face. The vizor of the Aegishorn is a bit more slim and arcs stylish downward and back up, but it does seem to be a Godfall version of Lord Zedd's mask.
The initial design of the Aegishorn also has a purplish-red color to it, a color that is incredibly similar to Lord Zedd's own body. Furthermore, both characters have a ribbed cage protruding from their front. There's really nothing indicating that Lord Zedd had any sort of design philosophy, as his looks are never discussed in-universe, but the horn and the rib cage seems like it could be based with an insect in mind. So, with the scarab influence on Godfall's Aegishorn, it's not surprising there's a few minute details.
Again, this isn't a 1:1 comparison of the Aegishorn and Lord Zedd, but it's easy to look at Aegishorn and get Zedd vibes. There's almost no way that Zedd influenced this Godfall character creation in any way...not that it would be a bad thing if he somehow did.
Godfall is available now for PC and PS5.
