Walmart Sends Xbox Series X Console to Fan Days Early | Game Rant
With the commercial launch of the Xbox Series X less than a week away, fans have started to get quite eager. With the promise of next-gen hardware and an impressive line-up of launch titles, the Xbox Series X should hopefully deliver once it has officially released. Although, for one individual in particular, the console arrived a little earlier than he initially expected.
Within the last week especially, there have been reports of consumers receiving pre-order copies of the Xbox Series X days ahead of the console's worldwide release date. In fact, just a few days ago, one lucky fan from Portugal received the Xbox Series X over a week before the console's launch date. Now, a similar situation has occurred.
Over on TikTok, a user by the name of Kevalashea shared a video showing that his Xbox Series X pre-order had arrived early. Apparently, Walmart sent his copy prematurely or there was some sort of mix up. It's strange how these early console shipments have started to occur all over the world.
A few days before both Kevalashea and the Xbox fan from Portugal received their early copies of the console, another consumer in Montreal, Canada had their pre-ordered Xbox Series S unit arrive well over a week before the worldwide launch date. It seems as though incidents like these are starting to slowly become more frequent.
It will be interesting to see if any more console units are shipped prematurely to fans. Given all of the incidents in terms of Xbox Series X pre-orders along with lack of availability in some regions, it's rather peculiar seeing console units prematurely or accidentally shipped to recipients. Though, considering that all of the next-gen launch titles releasing for the console will be releasing on the same day as the Xbox Series X, Kevalashea will still have to wait for those games to launch along with everyone else.
In any case, it will be fascinating to see what the consensus from users will be in terms of the upcoming console. After all, no matter how much the company shows off a next-gen console and its capabilities, nothing compares to actually trying out the console in-person. For how many pre-orders the Series X has received, some users might have problems adapting to the new console. Fortunately, Xbox put out a video explaining what to do before consumers receive the Xbox Series X.
The Xbox Series X is set to launch on November 12th, 2020.
