With the long awaited release of Cyberpunk 2077 finally here, fans who have been waiting for this game to arrive for nearly a decade could not be more thrilled. So many users have already begun to sink their teeth into Cyberpunk 2077 and with a world as expansive and detailed as Night City, there's certainly a lot for players to discover.
The player base for Cyberpunk 2077 has already grown impressively large, with over one million concurrent Steam players experiencing Cyberpunk 2077 within the first few hours of the game's release. Needless to say, with so many users currently playing the game, there have been a number of in-game discoveries already, including one that harkens back to CD Projekt Red's most beloved franchise.
A Twitter user by the name of Christopher Lachcik found a clever Easter egg involving The Witcher series. At the beginning of the Corpo lifepath, if the player chooses to open a drawer to the right of them, a retro gaming magazine featuring Ciri on the front cover can be seen. This is an excellent and clever nod to the franchise that put CD Projekt Red on the map.
This will likely be the first of many Easter eggs involving The Witcher to be found in Cyberpunk 2077. The Witcher series is what CD Projekt Red is best known for, so it makes plenty of sense for the studio to reference it throughout the game, but hopefully, the studio also manages to make sure that Cyberpunk 2077 builds its own identity independent of the titles that came before it.
However, a commonality that a lot of players have been dealing with since the game's release is the level of glitches and bugs that have occurred in the game so far. In fact, there's one glitch that somehow covers Night City in trees. While glitches like this can be amusing for some, a lot of people want to have a good time with the game, and glitches take players out of the experience.
Luckily, CD Projekt Red is reassuring console players that Cyberpunk 2077 issues will be resolved as time goes on. It's important for people to understand that this is still an incredibly ambitious game, one that has been eight years in the making. Thus, it's nice to know that the studio is listening to player feedback and is doing what it can to fix these issues. In the meantime, players can still explore and discover a multitude of secrets featured throughout the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions currently in development.
