Fortnite: Where to Find Beskar Steel Deep in the Belly of the Shark

The newest Season of Fortnite is live, with all sorts of new goodies for players to uncover. There are a few new mechanics introduced this time around, including characters Fortnite players can talk to for quests and weapons.

One of the major features of this season of Fortnite is the Mandalorian skin, from the TV show of the same name. Part of a lengthy quest chain to get an upgraded version of the Mandalorian skin involves finding Beskar Steel hidden in various locations. Here's a guide to hunting down the Beskar "deep in the belly of the shark."

The Beskar is used to create pieces of the Beskar Mandalorian skin. To be clear, this is not the same as the regular version of the Mandalorian skin. The regular Mandalorian skin is easier to unlock, downright simple even. However, the Beskar enhancements can only be obtained through the quests to hunt down the Beskar steel. For a fully blinged out Mandalorian, it's the only way to go.

All of the Beskar steel is hidden behind somewhat cryptic hints, and the locations are all over the map. One, which tells players to find the Beskar Steel "where the earth meets the sky" is on top of a mountain. This one is on one very specific island. Head towards Coral Castle, at the northwest corner of the map. Just north of the main, sunken section, is an island with a stone shark's head. That's the place.

Head into the island's interior by going through the mouth of the stone shark. Be careful to avoid the actual sharks swimming around outside. Inside is a multitude of broken-down buildings on various levels. Go into the building directly ahead after entering the mouth and head up the stairs to level two. Take a right and look for an open vault door. The Beskar Steel, an unassuming block of grey, is resting on a shelf inside the vault. Pick it up and the quest is one step closer to being done. Of course, the skin won't be complete without the Baby Yoda back bling, but it's one more step.

Each of these clues is given by an NPC, so after this, it's a matter of leveling up enough to get the next hint. Be sure to visit the NPCs around the map too in order to get XP granting options.
