Pokemon GO Hosting The Game Awards 2020 Event | Game Rant
The Game Awards 2020 is only one day away now, premiering live tomorrow at 4 PM PST across 45 different global platforms. The Game Awards 2020 will have celebrity guest appearances, new video game announcements, the players' choice awards, musical performances, and much more, including something for Pokemon GO fans.
While The Game Awards are underway, there will also be a special Pokemon GO event taking place. The popular game will be having its own set of activities occurring right as The Game Awards starts, giving players something extra to do during breaks.
According to a tweet from the game's official Twitter account, Pokemon GO will have several special perks taking place live during The Game Awards. During the event, Incense will be far more effective for attracting pokemon, players will earn more Stardust when they catch Pokemon, and players can use a Charged TM to erase the charged attack Frustration from Shadow Pokemon.
What stands out the most, however, are the more frequent encounters with Team GO Rocket Grunts. Players will have more opportunities to face the villainous criminals at PokeStops and in balloons. The underlings have been in the game for a while now, but are useful for certain objectives.
The game has had a number of events this year, some during the pandemic, though it still has more in store for December. However, 2020 has already seen new raid bosses, more poke balls added to PokeStops, and even the Pokemon GO Kalos event last week. The event allowed players to catch any of the three Kalos region starter Pokemon: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. On top of that, many other Kalos region Pokemon were added to the game.
The event was a week long, and more Generation 6 Pokemon are on the way. Niantic has also announced an upcoming Pokemon GO Shiny Celebi event. The event is based on the upcoming film Pokemon The Movie: Secrets of the Jungle and will allow players the chance to catch a shiny version of the Mythical Pokemon Celebi. The event will feature infamous Team Rocket members Jessie and James, all starting December 14th.
Pokemon GO has had a strong year and will be closing out the year strong with The Game Awards, on top of any other events between now and the end of the year. Any viewers looking to keep themselves busy during The Game Awards Livestream can count on Pokemon GO to help them do so.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS.
