Resident Evil 8 Rated in Brazil | Game Rant
Resident Evil 8 is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated games releasing next year. Following the massive success Resident Evil 7 garnered back in 2017, the release of Resident Evil 8 weighs heavily on the minds of many fans of the series. While a release date for the game has yet to be confirmed, an age rating from Brazil helps to give fans of the series some semblance of further expectation.
Ever since the game was first unveiled during the PS5 console design reveal showcase, Resident Evil 8 has remained fresh in many people's minds. For the last couple of years, Capcom has been remaking some of the classic Resident Evil titles from the ground up, and while there are certainly a lot of people who have gotten a lot of mileage out of those remakes, many other fans have been patiently waiting for more news regarding the next official installment in the Resident Evil series.
Though, while Resident Evil fans continue to patiently wait for more RE 8 news, Brazil has already given the game an age rating. Gematsu posted a screenshot of Brazil's Ministry of Justice website showing what age range is recommended for the game. Unsurprisingly, the game's rating is intended for those over the age of 18. Given all of the famous and terrifying monsters to come out of Resident Evil, this rating makes more than enough sense.
While an official age rating does give people a certain indication of the game releasing soon, an official release date for Resident Evil 8 has yet to be confirmed. To be fair, the game was confirmed to release in 2021, but as of right now, there's no way to know when exactly the game will launch. It could be in the Spring or the Fall of 2021, as far as the gaming community knows.
Although, the upcoming release of Resident Evil 8 isn't the only thing that fans have to look forward to in terms of Resident Evil. In addition to the new installment, the remake of Resident Evil 4 is also rumored to be on the horizon, but so far, no official news has been unveiled in terms of that game. However, that's not even mentioning all of the film and TV adaptations of Resident Evil currently in the works.
Back in August of this year, it was confirmed that Resident Evil would be getting a Netflix series adaptation, in addition to a CGI movie called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. With the upcoming release of the Resident Evil movie reboot, there are plenty of Resident Evil related projects in the works for fans to look forward to in addition to Resident Evil 8.
Resident Evil 8 is currently in development.
