World of Warcraft: Shadowlands - How to Get a Heroic Castle Nathria Item This Week
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players have been busy raiding normal and heroic Castle Nathria since it opened last week. However, while some guilds and groups have already triumphed over Sire Denathrius, many others are still having trouble clearing bosses, or have been unlucky with loot drops. However, Blizzard has once again given players an alternate way to acquire raid loot by doing other tasks.
For the past few expansions, several weekly emissaries have awarded a cache that grants one random item from the current raid tier. While most of these quests require timewalking through older dungeons, a single one involves completing current Mythic-level dungeons. Shadowlands has only been out for three weeks, but the new emissary-requiring mythic dungeons will give an item level (ilvl) 213 Castle Nathria item to anyone that completes it.
Before players can think about completing the emissary, they must first pick up the quest from inside Oribos. The NPC offering the quest is Caretaker Kah-Toll, who is located right next to the Great Vault within the Hall of Shapes. If players aren't trying to claim their weekly item immediately, they can also accept the Emissary of War from anywhere in-game by cycling through the Adventure Guide.
Since the quest only states four Mythic dungeons must be completed, players can pick any of Shadowlands' eight dungeons.
- De Other Side
- Halls of Atonement
- Mists of Tirna Scithe
- Plaguefall
- Sanguine Depths
- Spires of Ascension
- The Necrotic Wake
- Theater of Pain
Groups looking to do the easiest ones should clear Halls of Atonement, Mists of Tirna Scithe, De Other Side, and Spires of Ascension because bosses don't gain any abilities that significantly change the fights. Alternatively, Mythic+ dungeons will also count for the quest if World of Warcraft players want to get a head start on pushing their keystones. Since the final boss of each Shadowlands dungeon will drop an additional item this week, everyone should still do normal Mythics for a shot at upgrades or to help gear any guild members.
After completing Emissary of War, players will receive their Cache of Nathrian Treasures reward, which can be opened to reveal an ilvl 213 piece. Because the raid item is based on specialization, make sure to switch to a DPS, Healer, or Tank role beforehand to get the appropriate loot. Note that the item is randomly chosen from the first eight bosses, so no one can luck into their best drops from the Stone Legion Generals or Sire Denathrius fight.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is available now on PC.
