Which Super Saiyan Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign? | Game Rant
The Super Saiyan (Supa Saiya-jin, or SSJ) serves as one of the most recognizable transformations in the world of Dragon Ball. Essentially, Saiyans and those with a Saiyan heritage can tap into this enhanced state to help improve their battle prowess. Throughout the series, Goku and his fellow Saiyans have tapped into various Super Saiyan forms to help them in their journey.
Interestingly, it seems that various Super Saiyan iterations seem reminiscent of the modern world’s Zodiac Signs. However, which Super Saiyans coincide with which sign?
12 Aries: Super Saiyan (Full Power)
Super Saiyan Full Power serves as the mastered form of the base SSJ. With this form, SSJs have their emotions remain in check, their focus unparalleled. In turn, the Super Saiyan Full Power enables SSJs to become more strategic while maintaining minimal power consumption.
Similarly, as the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries tends to be naturally fierce - confident, fearless, and hardworking. They tend to be hot-tempered and prideful, much like how Saiyans resort to full power when they know they’re in for a good fight.
11 Taurus: Super Saiyan Blue
Whereas the Super Saiyan God balances Saiyan power with divine grace, Super Saiyan Blue overwhelms godly techniques with the ferocity of a Super Saiyan. In this form, the divine ki control of the Super Saiyan Blue allows Saiyans to balance their battle prowess without leaking too much energy.
This form allows the likes of Goku and Vegeta to challenge new heights, especially when taking their fight to places like the Tournament of Power. Interestingly, this penchant for luxury (in the case of the two warriors, for fighting) reflects much of a Taurus’ traits. They are extremely industrious and loyal, and often work hard to enjoy their indulgences.
10 Gemini: Legendary Super Saiyan
As the name suggests, the Legendary Super Saiyan serves as the prime example of a Berserk state - a perfection of the SSJ Rage with sheer battle power that can match even that of a Super Saiyan God. In this rare state, a Saiyan will relish in combat with their enhanced powers and clarity of mind.
Interestingly, this form often gets misunderstood as a purely evil form, when it’s in fact simply a rare Berserk state. Much like Geminis, who are mistaken for two-faced, no one’s sure how to make the Legendary Super Saiyan. However, at their core, Geminis are witty, talkative, and fun to be with - much like how, with the right warrior, a Legendary Super Saiyan can be a delight to face.
9 Cancer: Super Saiyan 2
When Gohan shreds his hesitation in his fight against Cell, the young warrior achieves an ascended state - the Super Saiyan 2 (SSJ2). This dramatically increases the energy output, strength, and speed of all its users. While the SSJ Full Power demonstrates mastery, the SSJ2 maximizes the utilization of the SSJ form.
Likewise, Cancers can be likened to SSJ2, especially for their empathetic nature. Gohan archives this form through his understanding of his duty to protect others. Meanwhile, Cancers understand emotions to such an extent that they can sometimes be manipulative, just like how the SSJ2 “elevates” their mastery of the SSJ form.
8 Leo: Super Saiyan 3
Desperate times call for desperate measures - and for Saiyans, this means tapping into the Super Saiyan 3 (SSJ3) form. Goku can only last for a few minutes in this form as it can literally kill him. In turn, the life-and-death situation of the SSJ3 removes all restraints from the Saiyan.
Interestingly, this penchant for excess seems reminiscent of a Leo. While they’re capable of getting the center of the attention through their expression, they oftentimes get mistaken for being overly vain or overly confident, much like how the SSJ3 seems a bit “excessive” especially in terms of fighting strong enemies.
7 Virgo: Super Saiyan God
Whereas the SSJ forms tap into a Saiyan's raw power, Super Saiyan God balances the SSJ's brute power with the elegance of a god's divine techniques. A Super Saiyan God's approach to battle involves using an enemy’s own attacks against them.
Likewise, the Super Saiyan God’s commitment to their godly form and technique fits them squarely into the Virgo’s territory of planning ahead, attention to detail, and perfectionism. Virgos rarely get surprised by problems and have a solution for everything, much as the Super Saiyan God’s training.
6 Libra: Super Saiyan (Base)
As per lore, only Saiyans with a gentle spirit can tap into the power of even the base SSJ transformation. This serves as the first transformation that leads into other power-ups in the series.
Saiyans usually tap into the base Super Saiyan under times of extreme stress. Similarly, Libras often get flack for being indecisive - but they are extremely empathetic. When they put their emotions into focus, Libras have the potential for greatness, just like how the base SSJ often became a vehicle for more powerful transformations.
5 Scorpio: Super Saiyan 4
Saiyans who tread the fine line between their violent Great Ape transformation and their Super Saiyan potential can achieve the Super Saiyan 4 (SSJ4) form. This form capitalizes on the Great Ape's sheer strength and the SSJs clear mind yet aggressive nature. Perhaps best of all, SSJ4s all get leather gloves, combat boots, and slick leather pants.
Given the SSJ4’s pure edge, what more could a Scorpio ask for? The SSJ4 fits the Scorpio sign, especially since Goku and Vegeta tapped into the SSJ4 form to fight specifically to protect their family. The mysterious form does make its users seem suspicious and untrusting, much like Scorpios at first glance.
4 Sagittarius: Super Saiyan Rage
While not a separate "form" in itself, Super Saiyan Rage does represent a Super Saiyan who puts all focus on their inner rage to win their battles. Super Saiyan Rage becomes more aloof - focusing more on their emotions than the objective at hand.
Similarly, the carefree Sagittarius won’t hesitate to explore and try new things thanks to their free-spiritedness. Unlike other SSJ forms, the Capricorn-like nature of the SSJ Rage allows users to relish in their anger instead of containing it. Unfortunately, the SSJ Rage seems impractical as it doesn’t serve the Saiyan’s true purpose for the battle, much like how Sagittarius can be burdened by their tendency to avoid commitments.
3 Capricorn: Super Saiyan C-Type
Broly and Kale showcase the Super Saiyan C-Type’s awesome increase in power as their own version of base SSJ, but with precise energy control. Despite being a "transition" state, Kale did tap into the C-Type when she desired to become much better at fighting.
Kale’s tapping into the C-Type due to her hard work has all the traits of the industrious Capricorn. They love working hard for their goals, and much like Kale can surprise others with their quick improvements. Unfortunately, they do have a tendency to get overworked with too much discipline - just like how the C-Type can revert into a normal SSJ with enough damage.
2 Aquarius: Powerhouse
The Powerhouse form can give SSJs enough firepower to pummel opponents at a cost. Future Trunks demonstrates this in his first fight with Cell, where he bulks up physically - capable of landing powerful punches at the cost of decreased speed.
One might wonder as to the actual “status” of Powerhouse within SSJ transformations - just like how others find the Aquarius extremely peculiar and aloof. However, one should never underestimate Aquarius's potential for intelligence. Despite the impracticality of the Powerhouse state - a Saiyan who uses this properly can end the fight without escalating into other forms.
1 Pisces: Super Saiyan Rose
Super Saiyan Rose, exclusive to Goku Black, matches the Super Saiyan Blue in terms of power. However, Super Saiyan Rose grants Goku Black ungodly ki control so that he can even create energy constructs. Despite its dark nature, its sheer creativity puts Super Saiyan Rose into its own level of danger.
Due to Rose's sheer creativity, they have peculiar similarities to the highly artistic Pisces. Their advanced level of creativity and artistry give Pisces the potential to create art that connects with their audiences, much like Rose's godly potential against SSJ Blue. However, Pisces may be emotional but distant - just like how the Rose has the potential for goodness, but Goku Black used it for his schemes.
