In the game, the player takes down dozens of monsters and comes across plenty of different pieces of armor. Each item grants them a certain skill that acts as a buff. These effects can be stacked and increased and when they finally complete the full outfit, it is all worth it because they look awesome and the benefits are awesome too.

8 The Zinogre Set

"Fanged wyverns whose bodies are streaked with electricity. Sharp claws and strong limbs allow them to thrive in mountainous terrain. During hunts, they gather numerous Thunderbugs to boost their power and enter a supercharged state."

The Zinogre set will give the player Level 5 Latent Power, Level 2 Weakness Exploit, and Level 3 Constitution. This armor means 50 percent more Affinity (Critical Chance) and 50 percent less stamina depletion. It also means attacks that hit weak spots will get an additional 15 percent Affinity as well as yet another 15 percent stack on wounded parts. Moreover, the Zinogre set reduces stamina depletion further by 30 percent.

7 The Ingot Set

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

The Ingot set will give the player Level 3 Windproof, Level 3 Thunder Attack, Level 2 Power Prolonger, Level 2 Attack Boost, and Level 2 Critical Eye. Basically, minor wind pressure will not affect them much. More importantly however, they get a bonus of 100 for Thunder Attack and their weapons will stay powered up for 20 percent longer. It goes further too, the player's Attack increases by six and their Affinity (Critical Chance) goes up by 10 percent.

6 The Nargacuga Set

"Flying wyverns that have evolved to live in thickly wooded areas. Covered in jet black fur, these cunning predators stalk their prey from the shadows and attack with ferocious speed. Their massive tails are as dexterous as they are deadly, and powerful enough to slay smaller monsters with one strike."

The Nargacuga set will give the player Level 5 Evade Window, Level 4 Critical Eye, and Level 3 Evade Extender. Therefore, they get to enjoy the maximum amount of time for invulnerability while evading. On top of that, the player will have 20 percent Affinity (Critical Chance) and the maximum distance when evading.

5 The Medium Set

Sometimes the player prefers to be a team player rather than take down monsters all on their own.

The Medium set will give the player Level 2 Speed Eating, Level 3 Free Meal, Level 3 Good Luck, and Level 3 Wide-Range. So, they can consume food and drink items 46 percent faster and use other items 28 percent faster. Going off that, the player has a 75 percent chance to consume an extra food or drink item. They get the best possible chance of earning increased quest rewards too and their items affect allies nearby at 66 percent efficacy.

4 The Rathian Set

"Fire-breathing female wyverns, also known as the "Queens of the Lands." With powerful legs and poison-secreting tails, they hunt mainly on the ground. Sometimes seen preying as a couple, Rathian and Rathalos cooperate well."

The Rathian set will give the player Level 3 Blight Resistance, Level 3 Recovery Up, Level 1 Botanist, Level 2 Wide-Range, and Level 1 Free Meal. This armor protects the player against all elemental blights and increases the amount healed from effects by 30 percent. Additionally, they will get an extra herb each time they gather and their items will apply to allies as well with 33 percent efficacy. Not only that, the player has a 25 percent chance to consume a food or drink item free of charge.

3 The Bone Set

Sometimes the greatest equipment is the one that gives players buffs all around.

The Bone set will give the player Level 3 Stamina Thief, Level 1 Partbreaker, Level 1 Marathon Runner, Level 2 Muck Resistance, and Level 2 Focus. This armor makes the player's attacks have an additional 40 percent Exhaust power and have a 10 percent higher change to sever or break parts of the monster. Additionally, their stamina depletion will be reduced by 15 percent and they are less impaired when stuck in a monster's muck. Moreover, the gauge for weapons will be filled 10 percent faster and charge times go down by 10 percent.

2 The Somnacanth Set

"A formidable aquatic serpent that crests on moonlit nights - likely why it has often been mistaken for a mermaid. It expels an intoxicating sleep powder from its neck gills and tail, knocking out prey before it can resist. Some Somnacanth sightings tell of this species making use of unusual shells, so exercise caution if you catch one swimming towards you with a shell in its claws."

The Somnacanth set will give the player Level 3 Sleep Attack, Level 1 Item Prolonger, Level 3 Bombardier, and Level 3 Divine Blessing. Whenever they try inflicting Sleep, the buildup goes up by 20 percent and gets a bonus of 10. In addition, item effects will last for 50 percent longer and explosive items will be 30 percent stronger. Moreover, the player has a chance to reduce damage taken by 50 percent.

1 The Basarios Set

"These juvenile Gravios are famous for their rock-hard carapaces. They often burrow underground, mimicking rocks and savaging oblivious miners. Because their carapaces are tougher than that of a full-grown Gravios, they'll attack a threat by charging at it. They are also known to emit a poisonous gas."

The Basarios set will give the player Level 2 Load Shells, Level 5 Defense Boost, Level 3 Guard, and Level 3 Speed Sharpening. This armor increases their Defense by eight percent with a bonus of 20. Also, the player's Elemental Resistances goes up by three. On top of that, knockback impact and stamina depletion is reduced by 15 percent when attacked. There's more too; when they sharpen weapons using a whetstone, three cycles are removed right off the bat.
