The Witcher 3: Final Preparations Quest Guide (Best Order)
Few games have made their mark among players like The Witcher 3: the Wild Hunt. Xbox Game Pass is losing The Witcher 3 soon, meaning for many players there is no better time to play the game than now.
One thing that most players know about The Witcher 3, even those who have not played it, is that it's very long. But, like most good games, it does have an ending, wherein the main characters confront the eponymous Wild Hunt. Before that though, there are four quests that must be completed to finish the main quest Final Preparations. They can be done in any order, but here's a quick guide to one of the best orders.
Geralt teams up with Triss for this mission as the two of them go hunting for a powerful sorceress. After tracking down the man who won her at a game of Gwent (in animal form), players must pursue her into some sewers. This is a fairly combat heavy quest, and will require fighting one of The Witcher 3's rarest enemies. With that said, it is also perhaps the most straightforward of the four quests, involving few alternate routes and decisions that need to be made.
Now it's time for Yennefer's quest, and this one can either be very hard or very easy. It's a prison break, and it's possible to bring Zoltan on it if the player has helped him earlier. If players don't bring him along, there's a lot of fighting in this quest. If they do bring him, it's more stealth focused. One mistake players make with The Witcher 3 is to rush into combat, but stealth is the better option here. Hopefully Zoltan has been treated well, as he and his wine are the keys to this prison.
This is Cirri's side quest, where she and Geralt will meet several people who Ciri met on her journey. The goal is to pay them back for either hindering or helping Ciri. There are many disturbing quests in The Witcher 3, but this is not one of them. In fact, it's relatively chill. However, towards the end, there's a very important decision that involves trusting Ciri to be on her own. Give her space and it will pay off in the end.
This quest is undertaken by Geralt and Avallac'h. Players must travel through multiple worlds on the hunt for one of the Wild Hunt's lieutenants. It's a visually diverse, beautiful, and engaging quest, and one of the best reasons to play The Witcher 3 today.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
