Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Sail 630 Nuclear Bug Explained
A new bug is being reported by the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies community, as an unusual error code is removing player's access to the game. This new error code kicks players back to the main menu, and some fans have claimed their accounts are permanently banned as a result. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently patched, the developers have released information regarding the bug.
This bug manifested on April 2nd and has been dubbed the 'Sail 630 Nuclear Bug.' Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PC players have experienced their game crashing on high levels, and one fan claims to have been banned after receiving the code. To alert the community and developers to this problem, a player took to Reddit to share details regarding their ban.
Reddit user Korlesa compiled 50 posts from the Activision Support page and shared them with Reddit. In the posts, the players were all on PC playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies when they received the same error after being above round 50. All the reports claim that they received a permanent ban after the error code appeared despite only playing in the zombie's experience. In response, Foxhound FPS, Treyarch's community manager, replied on Reddit stating that he was unable to assist with the issue as all infractions undergo a review process.
Recently, FoxHoundFPS updated his report on Reddit and confirmed that Treyarch is looking into the issue. Despite many player's claims, he recommends that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War banned players look into the enforcement policy for ban offenses and clarifies that their bans are not related to this error.
He also shared the team's report on the '630 Nuclear Bud' where the developers confirm that it results in a standard disconnect. PC players are receiving an error string that should read "Connect to the Blizzard game server has been lost," but instead, they are receiving this unique error code. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's developer recommends that players continue playing, as usual, suggesting that a fix may be incoming in the near future.
While there is no solution at the moment, the team at least clarified that bans are not caused by this bug. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War bans go through a review process before being applied, and if a player is banned, it is a result of the security team's decision.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
