Hilarious Bootleg Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mobile Game Goes Viral
Throughout the history of the video game industry, bootleg games have plagued the market for years. In the past, such games could be found extremely cheap, focusing on popular IP's like Pokemon or Super Mario Bros. However, now it seems most bootleg games hit the mobile market, as they can be created quickly with stolen assets and distributed digitally at a rapid pace.
Although bootleg games have the potential of hurting the market, they sometimes turn out to be quite a treat for fans, as they can contain anything from wacky combinations of video game IPs to strange voice acting to hilarious game titles and more. Now, it seems that a new mobile game ripoff of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is bringing all of that and more to fans, as videos shared of the mobile game have quickly gone viral all around the internet.
Over on Twitter yesterday, user heynicjobstill posted a tweet along with a video containing hilariously bizarre quotes from the character select screen of an action-RPG-styled Super Smash Bros. Ultimate knockoff mobile game. The game reportedly comes from the Cayman Islands and includes characters from a slew of Nintendo IPs, as well as some more obscure fan-made characters like "Evil Mario" and "Melody," which uses a 3D render of the viral sensation Bowsette. However, the real fun comes from the voice lines of each character in the game.
The bootleg is reportedly titled Super Fighter M - All Star, and on Twitter, fans have been sharing their favorite catchphrases of each character, such as Link, who finally decides to speak up and say, "I don't like talking very much." For whatever reason, the creators of Super Fighter M - All Star are also under the impression that Cloud admires Sephiroth, and that Kirby can speak as well. Some of the strangest instances from this bootleg mobile game have seen the T-Rex from Super Mario Odyssey say "Star Fox, shoot at will," and the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo insists, "Stop correcting me."
While a lot of these humorous voice lines can be seen as confusing mistranslations, some niche references seem to have made it into the game as well, with Donkey Kong saying, "Do you have a banana butter pie?" This is likely a reference to the Donkey Kong Country animated cartoon which aired from 1996-2000 and contains an episode where DK himself sings about coconut cream pie.
Even popular video game YouTuber videogamedunkey joined in on the fun, showcasing the strange voice lines in a brand new video. Some fans may be disappointed to learn that Super Fighter M - All Star was understandably removed from the Google Play Store on March 8 after failing to abide by the digital storefronts rules. Regardless, fans are greatly enjoying themselves with what footage of the game still exists.
