Easter Basket Discovered In Call of Duty: Warzone | Game Rant
There have been a variety of holiday-themed events throughout Call of Duty: Warzone's history. From the Halloween undead assaults to small nods towards Christmas, the developers consistently update the game with holiday treats for the community. One Call of Duty: Warzone fan has discovered an interesting new contract themed to an upcoming holiday.
Free-to-play titles can often draw additional community attention by incorporating famous holidays into their games. Call of Duty: Warzone's contracts often exhibit this trend offering players a variety of themed gear. Occasionally, the developers take things to the next level by adding in-game assets for players to discover across Verdansk.
While the developers only had subtle nods to Valentine's Day, it seems that Easter is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. In an image posted to Reddit by ColdClassGaming, the player has found an Easter Basket hidden within the game's map. This basket includes a holiday contract that unlocks the Firebrand weapon blueprint. While the Easter Basket seems to function as a normal chest, this does give players a chance for an extra unlock if they can complete the holiday contract. The player found the basket within the airport hold while playing in a round of plunder, but some fans are not impressed.
Some players remember seeing this same blueprint available, and they consider it lazy for the developers to simply cycle the event. On the other hand, this does offer newer players a chance to unlock the same Call of Duty: Warzone contracts that many other fans got during the first Easter event. While there are fans on both sides of this issue, the fact remains that an Easter Basket was discovered within the map.
Further investigation reveals that although the basket did appear, the blueprint can not actually be claimed. Call of Duty: Warzone has not formally announced an Easter event, and this can be considered a minor bug due to its rare appearance. While there are many bugs within Call of Duty: Warzone, this is not the most unpleasant one to discover this time of year.
Call of Duty: Warzone fans are surprised that the basket appeared at all. While this may not be a formal event, it does remind players of the season events the game has done thus far. Call of Duty: Warzone's Halloween event was considered a success by fans, and many players would not mind seeing more holiday goodness in the game's future.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
