Monster Hunter Rise: How To Get Flame Sac | Game Rant
As Monster Huter Rise players progress through the game's 7 hunter ranks and attempt to perfect their builds, there are several rare monster parts that will be required in the construction of higher-level weapon and armor sets. In Monster Hunter Rise, the flame sac is a rarity 4 material that can be obtained and is used in the construction of a wide variety of armor sets and weapons. While players may struggle at first to find this rare material, there are several methods of obtaining it that are easily farmable.
The primary way to obtain the flame sac in Monster Hunter Rise is by hunting or capturing specific monsters that have the potential to drop the item. There are a total of 4 monsters in the game that can drop the flame sac, however, the drop rates for the material vary with each monster.
The monster with the highest drop rate for the flame sac is the Aknosom. When fighting the monster players have a 24% chance of obtaining the item from killing the monster, 20% chance from capturing the monster, and a 21% chance of obtaining the material through carving. Players can also increase their chance of obtaining specific monster parts by bringing a gathering Palico on their hunt.
It is worth noting that when hunting the Aknosom, there is no chance of obtaining the material through broken parts. As a result, farming monster parts via turf wars is not an option for obtaining the flame sac.
The flame sac can also be dropped by the Basarios, Rathalos, and Rathian. The drop rates for the item are significantly reduced compared to the Aknosom. However, if players happen to be farming for an armor set that requires the flame sac (such as the Rathalos set), then hunting one of these monsters may be worthwhile.
Players can access the drop rates for the material for each of the monsters via their hunter notes. After accessing the menu, select large monsters, and once a monster is selected tab over to the materials section of its description.
As was previously mentioned, the flame sac is used in the construction of a large variety of weapons and armor pieces. In terms of weapons, the flame sac is required to build: Aknosom Blade I, Barbaroi Blade I, Flammenschwert I, and Flammenzahn I. Armor sets that require flame sacs include the: Aknosom Set, Anja Set, Basarios Set, Rathalos Set, and Rathian Set.
If players are not building a specific armor set, then the easiest way to farm the item would be through the 3-star hub quest "Feathered Frenzy" which tasks players with hunting an Aknosom. Out of all the monsters that drop the flame sac, the Aknosom is the easiest to defeat and also happens to have the highest drop rate. If players are looking to save time, this is their best option.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available for the Nintendo Switch, with a PC release slated for 2022.
