Outriders: How To Specialize Your Weapon Drops | Game Rant
Anomaly Powers are awesome, but nothing beats a good gun when it comes to Outriders. As players might have guessed, getting the perfect weapon to drop can take a bit of farming and a great deal of luck, but there are things that players can do to help with this process. Most notably, players can specialize their weapon drops so that they are more likely to find weapons of a specific type, but this system does come with some restrictions. In order to do this, players need to unlock the weapon master nodes on their class skill trees, and each class has two different weapon categories they can specialize in.
Although there are nine different types of primary weapons, Outriders further breaks this down into three distinct categories. All primary weapons are considered either Assault Weapons, Sniper Weapons, or Shotgun Weapons, and these weapon master skills increase the chance of finding the corresponding weapon. Assault Weapons are Assault Rifles, Light Machineguns, Submachine Guns, and Double Guns; Sniper Weapons are Marksman Rifles, Automatic Sniper Rifles, and Bolt Action Rifles; and Shotgun Weapons are Pump Action Shotguns and Automatic Shotguns.
Starting with the Technomancer, these long ranged combatants unsurprisingly gain access to the Sniper Master skill first. Found in the Pestilence portion of the class tree, this increases the likelihood of Sniper weapons dropping by 20% but also increases the damage of all Sniper Weapons by 20%. Later, Technomancers can unlock the Assault Master skill, boosting the drop rate and damage of Assault Weapons by 20% as well.
Like the Technomancer, the Pyromancer prefers to keep its distance. Since this class prefers to play at midrange as opposed to long range like the Technomancer, though, it gains access to the Assault Master skill first. Later on, players can unlock the Sniper Master skill as well. Both of these grant 20% to drop rate and damage of that weapon type and are found in the Ash Breaker tree.
As with many things in the game, the Trickster is somewhat different than in this regard than other classes. Billed as a close range combatant, they gain access to both Shotgun Master and Assault Master, but there are several changes here. For starters, Tricksters can get either skill early rather than having to wait longer for one, but the values are also different. Both skills increase drop chance by 20% but the Assault Master skill increases damage by 3.5% per unlocked Concentration class node and the Shotgun Master skill boosts damage by only 15%.
Finally, the Devastator class is also considered short range, so it gets Shotgun Master first and Assault Master later as well. Like the Trickster, Shotgun Master only boosts damage by 15%, but Assault Master resembles the other class versions instead by providing a 20% boost to damage. Both skills boost drop rate by 20% and are found in the Vanquisher Devastator class tree.
Outriders is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
