Sydeon Shows Off Impressive Genshin Impact Mona Cosplay
The hit open-world RPG from miHoYo, Genshin Impact, has amassed a huge and enthusiastic player base. Though free-to-play, it has become the fastest mobile game to reach $1 billion in sales. With a large cast of characters, there are many players who want to cosplay as one of them. One content creator, Sydeon, wanted to portray one of Genshin Impact's Hydro sorceresses.
For those that don't know, Sydeon, or Sydney, is a professional model and Twitch Partner that loves anything related to superheroes, magic, and sci-fi. She is also an avid cosplayer, and has donned the garb of everything from Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Diana and Kai'sa from League of Legends, and Loba from Apex Legends. Many viewers enjoy her bubbly personality as well as her detailed cosplay ensembles, no matter the character.
Returning from a pretty long cosplay hiatus, Sydeon is cosplaying one of many players' favorite Genshin Impact characters. The Hydro mage Mona was introduced in September 2020, and left an immediate impression with her purple-colored getup. Sydeon has pulled together an accurate ensemble of the Mondstadt astrologer, from the purple aspects of the torso costuming to the golden star broach to the purple cape. Mona's whimsical wide-brimmed witch's hat, complete with red underlining, makes an magnificent appearance in this cosplay. The purple hair ties it all together, and it is clear that Sydeon is enjoying the time spent cosplaying again.
While Sydeon's Mona cosplay is spectacular, she is far from the only person to try their hand at a Genshin Impact cosplay. For example, players have cosplayed as Hu Tao, Genshin Impact's spooky Pyro-element spear-wielder. Diluc is also a popular pick, and has seen his fair share of cosplay. Pretty much every character introduced so far in the game has had some intriguing design, with many being completely unique. With the popularity of Genshin Impact, it is likely to be a source of cosplay inspiration for many years to come, especially if miHoYo continues to update the game.
Many Genshin Impact fans are looking forward to the new content coming their way soon in the game's 1.5 Update. Along with multiple visual enhancements and performance improvements, players will soon be able to own in-game homes, through a sort of pocket-realm mechanic. Genshin Impact will introduce new characters, too. Namely, the Pyro catalyst user Yanfei, and the Cryo and claymore using Eula. Since it looks like each of these characters have interesting designs, Genshin Impact fans will likely see players cosplay as them, too.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4/5, and mobile devices.
