Warframe Reveals 8th Anniversary Plans | Game Rant
Developer Digital Extremes released Warframe in the spring of 2014. Despite facing a sluggish launch period, the free-to-play MMO action RPG grew to boast almost 50 million players by 2019.
Warframe now celebrates its eighth anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, Digital Extremes is offering unique in-game rewards between April 19th and May 17th. It also debuted a new trailer showing off the rare gear players can get their hands on just for logging in.
Players already have access to the Rhino Dex Skin by logging in between now and May 17th. Other rewards are on their way soon. This week, players can get their hands on the Dex Sybaris burst-fire rifle and Excalibur Dex Skin. Next week, it’s the Dex Dakra swords and Dex Nouchali Syandana cosmetic garment. The week of May 3rd brings the Dex Furis pistols and a Dex skin for Warframe’s Liset landing craft. The anniversary event concludes with the Dex Raksaka Armor and an Excalibur Dex Noggle and Action Glyph on the week of May 10th.
Digital Extremes also announced the “Call of the Tempestarii” side quest is now live on all platforms. Players need the Railjack spacecraft and at least a Level 4 Mastery rank before beginning the solo-only mission. Completing it grants players the new Sevagoth Warframe.
In addition to in-game content, Digital Extremes is also holding the Squad Take-Down contest until May 6th. Players can join their squads and screenshot themselves taking down their favorite Warframe bosses. Players who submit their screenshot before 1 PM Eastern on May 6th have a chance to win free access to the Octavia Prime Warframe for the whole squad.
Warframe has always offered a unique experience with a special atmosphere. That special atmosphere is part of why it retains such a dedicated fanbase despite an otherwise small profile. The eighth-anniversary event provides an ideal opportunity to join or return to the sci-fi MMO’s universe.
Warframe is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
