Biomutant: Is There New Game Plus? | Game Rant
Biomutant's interesting setting and unique characters have captivated some fans, and even after completing the game once, there are those that still want more. This may be simply because players enjoy the combat system of the game, or maybe players want to try making different choices and taking different paths during a second playthrough. Regardless of the reason, the question looming in these fans' minds is whether or not the game has a new game plus feature, and thankfully the answer is yes. Players can play through the game again with everything they've earned, but there are a few key points that they should know beforehand.
Typically speaking, new game plus allows players to start at the beginning of a game while keeping all of their character progression. This way they can play through the story once again without feeling as though they have to relearn all of their skills and levels. Biomutant works very similarly to this, but there is one important caveat.
In order to access new game plus in Biomutant, players first need to beat the game. After completing the final mission of a playthrough, players will then be given the option to start a new game plus cycle. Should players choose not to do this at the time, they can always start new game plus from the main menu by simply selecting their completed game save file and choosing new game plus. This will start the player over just outside of the Tree of Life.
After starting new game plus, players will use the same character as before. While quest progress will reset, the character's level, Psi Powers, innate resistances, Biogenetic Mutations, equipment, inventory, and more will all remain. Essentially anything that is tied to the character itself is preserved while things tied to story progression will be reset. It's important to note that while players can experience the story again in this way, they also have a chance to see a different ending.
The first choice players make in a new playthrough is which tribe to side with. If players side with one of the three light tribes, they will get the "good" ending, but siding with one of the three dark tribes gives the "bad" ending. For this reason, players will probably want to pick a tribe of the opposite alignment that they did on their first playthrough. This way they can see both endings for themselves.
Biomutant is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
