Call Of Duty Warzone: Modern Warfare Guns Raven Should Buff In The Upcoming Patch

Raven have spent a lot of their time and attention this month balancing all of the Cold War guns in Warzone. Meanwhile, apart from the AMAX and Sykov, the Modern Warfare weapons have remained untouched for months. In the patch notes on May 7, Raven stated that they were going to make changes to the Modern Warfare weapons in the future.

This is great news for a community that has endured one limited meta after another for the greater part of a year. All of the weapon balancing undertaken by Raven this season has been positive. It takes longer to down enemies with meta weapons and there are more viable guns than ever. Still, there are a few guns left that still could use some major tweeks.

8 Scar

The Scar has a lot of issues that hinder its performance in Warzone. It has a slow fire rate, which penalizes missed shots, and it has a ton of recoil. The weapon's theoretical time to kill is far too slow for the amount of recoil gamers need to control when using it.

Just a small change to the recoil, fire rate, or chest damage values would make the gun viable in Warzone. Right now, using the Scar is a complete liability. It is a fan favorite gun and it would be awesome to use it in competitive matches.

7 AK-47

While it is borderline viable in Season 3, the AK-47 needs a little love. The gun has good long-range damage values, but it has too much bounce to be accurate at range. Likewise, the AK performs well at close range, but it has mobility and ADS issues if used like an SMG.

A minor buff to the recoil pattern or mobility stats would make the AK an effective weapon in Warzone. It would make sense for the MW AK to have slightly less recoil, as the CW AK has a better TTK. The AK-47's design has obviously improved since the Cold War, so the guns should at least be comparable.

6 FR 5.56

It is a scary proposition, but the FR 5.56 needs some kind of change. A simple burst spread improvement is all Raven needs to do. As long as the headshot damage values are not insane like the AUG and M16, the FR 5.56 can be a fun and reliable three burst gun in Warzone.

Another option is to add a full-auto conversion kit and adjust the damage values for the gun. A fully auto FR would prevent another broken burst weapon from taking over the game and it would incentivize using the gun as a sniper support option.

5 MP7

The developers have not touched the MP7 since the game was launched. It has been in and out of the meta a couple of times over the course of the past year. Within 15 meters, the MP7 is competitive and will win a few gunfights against SMGs with a faster time to kill.

The current problem with the MP7 is the drastic drop-off from a sub-600ms TTK to almost 800ms. In order for the MP7 to compete with the ARs at range, it will need a TTK of around 700. The selling point for the MP7 is versatility, but it does not have the ranged values to win fights beyond 30 meters.

4 PP19 Bizon

The Bizon has never been a popular SMG in Verdansk. It is a controllable weapon with a magazine large enough to take down multiple targets. The gun's time to kill against plated enemies is too slow to win against most guns in the game, however.

With the Bullfrog's rise to prominence, the few people that used the Bizon have switched over to its Cold War twin. Bringing the damage values of the Bizon close to that of the Bullfrog will make the Bizon a feasible option again.

3 Striker 45

As a niche gun, the Striker with hollow-point rounds can actually be very effective. However, the build is a 2 round burst with only 12 bullets in a magazine. Six shots are not enough to deal with more than one to two targets at once. The base Striker is terrible. Low bullet velocity, sup par DPS, and too much recoil make the SMG utterly inept. Raven can make the gun usable by addressing those issues.

2 Holger-26

The Holger has incredible accuracy and acts as a hybrid between an AR and LMG. It would be a really fun weapon to use if it did not take so many shots to down a player. At long range, the Holger feels like a nerf gun. If Raven can lower the shots to kill by 2, a lot of people would consider the Holger as a viable primary weapon. A buffed Holger could be a sniper support weapon or ranged primary.

1 SA87

Players that have tried the SA87 know that it has some potential. The damage is there, and it has a fast reload for an LMG. However, the magnitude of recoil is too high for the amount of damage the weapon inflicts. The SA87 needs a recoil reduction or damage buff. Either would give gamers the opportunity to use the SA87 in a particular role.
