Capcom Producer Peter Fabiano Moving to Bungie | Game Rant
Not long ago, Capcom was floundering somewhat for big titles beyond Monster Hunter. In recent years however, several Capcom series have risen to glory once more, with new Resident Evil titles leading to awesome cosplay moments and other expressions of love from fans.
At the helm of several recent Resident Evil successes, including Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, was Peter Fabiano. As the producer of several of Capcom's recent hits and an important member of the company before that, Fabiano has brought several wins to Capcom. Now, however, he is moving on to a different company.
Fabiano announced on Twitter that he has left Capcom and is now a producer at Bungie, thanking his coworkers at Capcom and announcing his anticipation to begin working at the studio behind Destiny. This change comes on the heels of major success for the producer in Resident Evil Village's excellent reception by most players. The success of Village bodes well for future Capcom products, so Fabiano's change of company comes as a bit of a surprise, and the reason behind it is currently unknown. As of this writing, it is not known if Fabiano is producing any new projects, or was brought on solely to contribute to Destiny 2.
For most of his tenure at Capcom, Fabiano was part of the localization team. He helped localize multiple titles, including Mega Man 11, Resident Evil 5, and the Mega Man Zero Collection. His most prominent achievement may well be Resident Evil 7, where he was the senior manager overseeing the project. He was also producer on Devil May Cry 5, a game that revived a series many considered permanently dormant. It did so well in fact that Devil May Cry 5's director teased the next game in the franchise and fans once more have hope for Dante in his own series and, maybe, for crossovers.
Fabiano certainly seems to have a magic touch when it comes to the games bearing his name, clearly something that Bungie wanted a part of. What exactly he will work on is not yet clear, but Destiny 2 is a very safe guess. Seeing as players are suggesting ways to fix aspects of Destiny 2, it can definitely use as much love as possible.
Of course, that's not to say the game is struggling, far from it. Despite Destiny 2 needing some new maps and probably some balance to its newer systems, it continues to be a vast and ambitious project. Hopefully Fabiano's contributions, whatsoever they may be, will help it to become an even better game.
