Destiny 2: How to Get Decrypted Data | Game Rant

Season of the Splicer has introduced several new currencies to Destiny 2, one of which is Decrypted Data which is used for upgrading the Splicer Gauntlet and for focusing Umbral Engrams. Decrypted Data can be earned in a few different ways, too, but is mainly found in Override missions.

In Season of the Splicer, Guardians have teamed up with the Fallen and Kell of Light, Mithrax, to save the Last City from an Endless Night brought on by the Vex. Destiny 2 players can get new armor ornaments, weapons, and upgrade resources from the new Season Pass to help reach the new 1320 Power cap.

Decrypted Data is a very important resource for a number of reasons. It can be spent at the Splicer Servitor in the newly expanded H.E.L.M. to upgrade the Splicer Gauntlet and can be used to focus Umbral Engrams at the Prismatic Recaster.

One of the ways of getting Decrypted Data is to play the new Override seasonal activity and unlock the Conflux Chest at the end to get better rewards. This chest awards players with 35 Decrypted Data per run. Destiny 2 players need to make sure that they have enough Ether for crafting Key Codes which are used to open the Conflux Chests.

Decrypted Data is can also be earned by completing some of the Season 14 weekly challenges. Completing the ‘Hello, World’ challenge awards 150 Decrypted Data for example, which is more than enough for one Tier I Splicer Gauntlet upgrade. Three Decrypted Data drops are also unlockable on the premium track of the Season Pass at levels 2, 12, and 32. Destiny 2 players will need to buy the Season Pass to earn these and they are unlocked only once.

Any Decrypted Data that a player has gathered will go into their Consumables inventory ready to be spent. Gauntlet upgrades available at the Splicer Servitor come in three tiers of seven upgrades with Tier I upgrades costing 100 Decrypted Data, Tier II costing 300, and Tier III costing 500. Players should also complete eight of the Splicer Servitor’s bounties to get a Pinnacle reward.

Destiny 2 players also have the option of spending their Decrypted Data on focusing Umbral Engrams too. Players will need to unlock a few Focusing Lenses for the Prismatic Recaster to be able to focus any Umbral Engrams into specific types of loot. However, players should definitely focus on upgrading their Splicer Gauntlet as quickly as possible as this will make Override much easier and more rewarding.

During this time, players can also work towards unlocking plenty of Focusing Lenses that can be used later on when players have almost fully upgraded their Splicer Gauntlets.

Finally, earning Decrypted Data also has the passive benefit of increasing a player’s reputation rank with the Splicer Servitor. The Servitor will also give players focused Umbral Engrams whenever they rank up their reputation, so players should check in regularly to see how far away they are from ranking up. This passive benefit is based on lifetime Decrypted Data earnings and not the amount currently sitting in a player’s inventory, so players should always try to earn as much as they can to max out their reputation rank.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the new Season of the Splicer are available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
