Genshin Impact: Elemental Trial Guide (Misty Dungeon) | Game Rant

The sixth and final trial available for Genshin Impact players to challenge in the Misty Dungeon event is the Elemental Trial. Unlike previous trials, which focused primarily on the use of specific weapon types, in the Elemental Trial, the focus of the dungeon revolves around the use of Genshin Impact's elemental reaction system.

While there are a total of five challenges for players to complete in the trial, there are only two that are unique to the Elemental Trial. These include; 1) Complete the trial after triggering at least 5 types of elemental reactions and 2) Use elemental reactions to disable 4 traps.

The Ley Line disorder specific to the dungeon increases the player's elemental mastery by 300 and triggers an AoE shockwave when an elemental reaction is generated. For those unfamiliar with the stat, elemental mastery dictates how powerful the elemental reactions are that players generate during combat.

There are a total of eight different elemental reactions that players can trigger with the characters currently available. These reactions include; Vaporize (Hydro+Pyro), Superconduct (Cryo+Electro), Overloaded (Electro+Pyro), Melt (Cryo+Pyro), Frozen (Cryo+Hydro) Electro-Charged (Hydro+Electro), Swirl (Anemo+Any Element), Crystalize (Geo+Any element).

In order to maximize the number of elemental reactions that can be easily generated, the ideal party composition should include; Keqing, Albedo, Sucrose, and Diona. Because of the versatility of Geo and Anemo users in terms of elemental reactions, players should be using Sucrose and Albedo as their primary characters throughout the trial.

It is important to note, that when using the Swirl and Crystalize reaction, the various combinations of elements used in those reactions will count as different reaction types towards the challenge. For example, if players utilize Sucrose's elemental burst in conjunction with Diona's skill, this will count as one reaction. If Sucrose uses her burst in conjunction with Keqing's elemental skill, this will count as a separate reaction even though it is still considered a Swirl.

Unlike the previous trial dungeons, which feature a variety of trash mobs for players to defeat, in the Elemental Trial, almost all of the enemies players will face will be imbued with a specific elemental type. As a result, players should pay close attention to the elemental breakdown of the enemies they are facing and plan their reactions accordingly.

To complete the challenge for disabling 4 trap types with elemental reaction, players should seek out the Cryo and Electro traps throughout the dungeon and disable them with Keqing and Diona. Because of the party composition, players will have difficulty disabling the Pyro and Hydro traps effectively with elemental reactions, so it is best simply to avoid these traps.

After completing the dungeon and all five of the challenges, players will be rewarded with 70 primogems, 4 heroes wit, 4 guide to prosperity, 30,000 mora, and 6 mystic enhancement ore.

Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
