Mortal Kombat: Sonya's 10 Best Fatalities & Brutalities, Ranked
Sonya Blade is one of the most recognizable characters in the entire Mortal Kombat series. Sonia serves a general in Earthrealm's Special Forces unit; the Outer World Investigation Agency, and now commands all operations of the Special Forces and Units (in addition to the Earthrealm unit). Sonya is one of the series' oldest characters, having first appeared in the arcade game and was the very first female member of the MK roster.
Both beautiful and tough, Sonia independent and headstrong, yet stubborn and prideful. Sonya cares about her friends and comrades, though she is not a fan of Kano, the Black Dragon leader. Sonya has a daughter, Cassie Cage, with Johnny Cage; though they are divorced. While she played the damsel in earlier Mortal Kombat entries, Sonia has developed into a talented fighter. A big part of why she's so effective is her use of various brutalities and fatalities. These are her very best.
10 Time Bomb
The Time Bomb is a finisher where Sonya Blade throws a frag grenade at her opponent. The frag grenade explodes, as frag grenades do, and their torso just gets completely obliterated. Also, their arms and head go flying.
The Frag Grenade is an essential tool in her arsenal. She uses it in close-range, medium-range, and long-range while fighting. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat X.)
9 Kamikaze
The Kamikaze is a finisher where Sonya Blade calls down her drone to land onto the opponent. It proceeds to explode when latched onto them, destroying itself and killing them as well. The opponent's head and torso get skeletonized due to the blast.
The drone she uses is the same one utilized during combat. Sonya Blade's drone flies in and supplies her with grenades, or shoots at the opponent. Best of all though, it launches itself at them and self-destructs. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat X.)
8 Airborne Blade
The Airborne Blade is a finisher where Sonya Blade grabs the opponent by the neck and snaps it. She is standing upside-down during the execution of this move too. This attack is extremely similar to her regular Grab, actually.
You know, despite this move being called Airborne Blade, the opponent is not quite in the air. Also, there is no blade used in the move, besides Sonya Blade. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe.)
7 Thigh Master
The Thigh Master is a finisher where Sonya Blade does a Leg Grab move. However, this time she separates the opponent's legs from their body. Afterward, Sonya slams them into the ground with such force that their face gets rubbed...like, it is no longer on their head because it is now a part of the ground itself.
When it comes to combat, she is all about the legs. Sonya's legs are seriously powerful, and they are used in other moves too. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat X.)
6 Target Marked
Sonia's Target Marked is a finisher where she inserts a smoke grenade into her opponent's mouth. It starts going off, smoking everywhere. Then she has her drone attack the opponent, summoning it with the device on her wrist.
The drone fires lasers out that slice their arms off and then a rocket launches out towards the smoke grenade, blowing up their head and making the rest of the opponent's body just topple over onto the floor. In addition to the drone, the wrist gadget Sonya has is a high-tech weapon that she activates often while fighting. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat X.)
5 Kill Shot
The Kill Shot is a finisher where Sonya Blade summons the BUD-E to do execute a K.A.T. Tantrum. What this means is the turret goes and tackles the opponent to the ground and then shoots many, many bullets directly into their skull. Despite the pool of blood, the turret keeps going until eventually shopping for a brief pause before continuing the barrage of bullets at the torn head.
BUD-E is her mobile sentry gun. It is armed with a cannon and .50 caliber rounds. BUD-E can switch between semi-auto and automatic fire mode. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat 11.)
4 Head Hunter
The Head Hunter is a finisher where Sonya Blade takes her garrote wire and wraps it around her opponent's neck. Following this, she knees them in the head, which decapitated them. While the opponent's head is in the air, Sonya Blade calls on her drone to shoot at it until the skin is vaporized and all there is is a bloody skull.
She catches it after it falls down and attaches it to her belt to wear around like a trophy. This is classic behavior for Sonya, who has long since moved away from her damsel in distress role. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat X.)
3 Supply Drop
The Supply Drop is a finisher where Sonya Blade grabs her opponent by the arm and elbows it. That's not all, of course. She breaks their elbow and then elbows them in the face. The opponent's nose breaks too.
As they fall down to the floor, Sonya Blade calls in the BUD-E as a supply drop and it lands, tearing apart their torso and ripping off their legs. The opponent tries to crawl away, but BUD-E shoots them in the face, leaving a nasty hole in their head. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat 11.)
2 Poison Kiss
The Poison Kiss is a finisher where Sonya Blade exhales a mist of poison at her opponent. While it looks like hearts, this kiss is quite sadistic. This seemingly innocent action causes the other fighter to start choking and vomiting both food and blood. During this fit, Sonia leaps into the sky and comes down, stomping on the opponent's back. Their head explodes, and organs burst out. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.)
1 To The Choppa
The To The Choppa is a finisher where Sonya Blade calls in a helicopter, which shines a spotlight on the opponent. Using her legs, she throws them into the air and then shoots her hand cannon at them. This takes off the opponent's arm, as they get closer and closer to the rotor blades of the helicopter.
Once they make contact with the blades, the opponent's body just gets obliterated as flesh and blood go everywhere as well as their head...the other arm...and both their legs. The helicopter she calls in seems to play an important part of her combat style, and really makes Sonia stand out compared to other fighters. (This finisher appears in Mortal Kombat 11.)
