Far Cry 6 Will Feature Something for Players When the Story is Over
Of the many highly anticipated titles releasing this year, Far Cry 6 is one that many in the gaming community have had their eye on for a while now. With a brand new narrative and setting, populated with new characters, weapons, and environments, players will certainly have a lot to sink their teeth into when Far Cry 6 releases. However, what might surprise some fans of the series is that Far Cry 6 will apparently feature post-game content.
An unfortunate pitfall that a number of AAA open world games tend to suffer from is a lack of end game content. Often times, once the main story is complete, all the player will be left to do is side content that wasn't previously done during the main game. The Far Cry series is no exception to this, with games like Far Cry 3 leaving players with this barren open world with nothing left to do, once the player has beaten the main story.
Fortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case with Far Cry 6. During an interview with YouTuber JoRaptor, lead game designer, David Grivel, mentions that there will be "something else" for players to do once the main story content has been completed. Grivel would later go on to state that more specific information would be revealed during the Ubisoft Forward event that would take place at E3 2021.
This "something else" that Grivel mentions could mean a lot of things. There are plenty of games that provide ways in which the player can continue to experience the game, even after the game is technically done. For instance, in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, once players finish the Dark Brotherhood quest line, the game will continue to provide the player with assassination contracts even after the storyline of the side quest has wrapped up.
Right now, it's impossible to know what the end game content will look like in terms of Far Cry 6. While fans of the series have been given quite a lot of information to work with already, such as Far Cry 6 having a notoriety system that allows enemies to recognize the player, there's still a lot of questions left to answer.
From what has been shown, it's clear that Far Cry 6 looks to expand upon the previous entries in the franchise. Many players are looking forward to having a fully voiced protagonist in Far Cry 6, whose story will hopefully be more involved compared to those of other Far Cry protagonists. However, the arrival of post-game content will be sure to give fans of the series a lot more to do and accomplish within the game.
Far Cry 6 launches October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
