Final Fantasy 7 Remake Aerith Actor Brings Character to Life with Cosplay
Briana White was the voice actor chosen by the planet, or just Square Enix, to be the new voice of Aerith for Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and beyond her performance in the game, she has done all she can to share her appreciation for Aerith and all of Final Fantasy 7. Through Briana's passion for Aerith, she has graced social media and Twitch by posting about the character, playing FF7R live for fans, and now celebrated Aerith in a most fitting cosplay with the help of a few content creator friends.
Cosplay has been a phenomenon about dressing up as various characters from anime to games and more for many years. Once a hobby by fans of games like Final Fantasy 7, it has grown in popularity to have stunning standards of its own; branching from having worldwide cosplay competitions, or having those who lend their voices to the characters decide to become that character for just a day, be it officially or for fans.
In the case of Briana White, she had done this herself with the help of some content creators online, such as Martin Wong and Reagan Kathryn. White had made comments on streams and social media in the past about wanting to try cosplaying as Aerith Gainsborough someday, and according to Martin Wong, the project had been a back and forth between the three of them for "about a year." And with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade now out on PlayStation 5, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally go through with it.
Photos of Briana White donning her personalized Aerith Wall Market dress can be found on many of her and her partners' social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. There are also videos of how the dress was made, the photoshoot, and of White in motion in the dress on YouTube for fans to watch if it interests them. Among the photos, there are two in particular that Briana White said the costume "just wouldn't be complete without" featuring her with a metal chair.
Sometimes voice actors stepping into cosplay can be met with harsh criticism, but with a professional photoshoot and costumer on Briana White's side, fans could be led to believe Aerith is real, with the voice to match while looking at the photos taken. It can be seen from the finest details that the project was done with love from all three parties.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is out now for PS5.
