Genshin Impact: 10 Tips For Playing In Multiplayer | Game Rant
Over the last year, the smash-hit mobile and PC game Genshin Impact has set records for its massive fan base. With hundreds of millions of players worldwide, the game has gained incredible speed for its well-built gameplay and great multiplayer potential.
Co-op mode is a part of the game that is widely used for its ease-of-use and its innovative solutions to harder domains and bosses. Yet, many Genshin Impact players make huge mistakes, which can make playing in multiplayer mode tedious. Here are some of the best tips for new players looking to master multiplayer mode.
10 Use The Chat
Communication is everything in team-based tactics games. Thus, teamwork will make playing Genshin Impact easier. While it's easy to coordinate elemental reactions and strategies in solo mode, the same cannot be said about multiplayer.
After all, multiplayer mode requires players to talk to others, which isn't always possible with online players. Yet, many new and old players forget the biggest component of multiplayer: the chatbox. Located on the lower left-hand side of the screen, this is where gamers can talk strategy (and maybe just make a few friends.)
9 Be The Healer
Nobody seems to like being the healer in roleplaying games. Though Genshin Impact is a little different due to its large roster of healers, these characters still tend to be weaker and more vulnerable. However, they are important, and especially so in Genshin Impact's multiplayer mode.
While solo mode can rely on food for healing, it may not always be an option in the real-time world of multiplayer. Choosing to be a healer will help endear the player to their team, while heavily increasing the player's odds against harder opponents.
8 Be A Different Character Than Normal
Everybody wants to be their favorite character. Players spend hours on end building and grinding, so it's only natural to be a little defensive. However, this can pose problems when two players want to play the same character.
In these situations, it's best to just switch to a different character (or at least have a backup in mind.) After all, this may just give the player a new experience and even a new favorite, all while mitigating any conflicts.
7 Become Friends
Online gamers all know the experience. Clicking on countless player profiles to join their game, it seems like nobody will accept a new player. That said, players often forget the number one way of getting around this issue: the friend button.
Joining a friend's world is a lot easier than joining a stranger's, so players are heavily advised to befriend others. Not to mention, it's not uncommon for miHoYo to release events that offer benefits to people with friends in-game, such as in the case of Vishaps and Where to Find Them.
6 Choose Your Character Carefully
Once again, it can be tempting for Genshin Impact players to choose their favorite character each time. That said, multiplayer matches don't have a set team composition like in solo mode. This means that putting thought into picking one's character can go a long way.
Players are advised to take into consideration the characters that their teammates choose, as well as their damage types and elements. Being stuck with a team of only Electro characters doesn't help with beating bosses, so plan accordingly.
5 Don't Rush Into A Match
Coordinating a group of people can be difficult, even if it is just an extra person. Not everybody is decisive, and planning for a difficult battle with Andrius takes a lot of thought. Type immunities, general resistance to attacks, character level, etc. all need to be taken into account.
The worst thing a player can do in co-op mode is to make a stressful experience for their teammates. This can lead to rash decisions that they may not be comfortable with. Players will find that make a comfortable, patient environment from the get-go (introducing themselves through the chat, for example) makes for better teamwork and more thorough planning later on.
4 Fight Bosses You Wouldn't Play In Solo Mode
Everybody has a limited amount of time, even in Genshin Impact. Not everybody will be playing on the same schedule, so players should plan their gameplay according to the amount of time they have available.
A sure-fire way to make sure that players are getting the most out of their sessions is to fight annoying bosses that they wouldn't normally fight alone. Sure, fighting the Pyro Regisvine may seem like a good idea, but many players are capable of doing so during their own time.
3 Let People Join Your World
Everyone knows the feeling of trying to join somebody else's world and not being let in. It's disappointing, and frankly, a lot of time wasted. However, the root of this problem falls on the people that don't accept the invite.
If players don't want to be listed as a joinable world, that is an option at the bottom of the co-op menu (a part of the game that solo-only players may not be familiar with.) However, for those players willing to make their world joinable, letting other players join is a great way to make new friends.
2 Don't Be Afraid To Take Initiative
Co-op mode is all about compromise. Partially, this is because everybody has the potential to find a new and interesting way to play the game. That said, don't be afraid to take the initiative during a co-op session; Genshin Impact is a game full of friendly players willing to adapt to their teammate's strategies.
Players will find that taking an initiative while making plans with teammates (whether that be choosing a boss to fight, collecting items, etc.) will make a more enjoyable experience for all parties. Don't be afraid to propose a new adventuring idea when playing with others.
1 Being Well-Rounded
Whenever it comes to Genshin Impact, it's always better to be safe than sorry. That doesn't mean that players need to plan for every little detail. After all, gamers are always welcome to play the way they like.
But it does help in co-op to be well-rounded whenever the player is unsure about something. Unlike in solo mode, team composition constantly changes in co-op mode. There's no way of being sure how a team member will build their characters, so preparing well-rounded characters for co-op mode is a good way of preparing for uncertainty.
