Pokemon GO Special Raid Weekend Bonuses, Dates, and Raid Bosses
Pokemon GO players have a busy summer full of events ahead of themselves and things are off to a quick start with the first weeks of the Season of Discovery. June has already been jam-packed and things aren't going to be slowing down any time soon as this Saturday marks the kickoff of the Special Raid Weekend.
The Special Raid Weekend will only be a two-day event, but it should still keep most Pokemon GO trainers busy at the end of this week. There are some exciting bonuses up for grabs and players have a chance to really stock pile some valuable Candy if they're willing to burn through some Raid Passes and take part in the limited time features.
The event kicks off Saturday morning and the biggest draw is likely going to be the increased frequency of five-star and Mega Raids and the chance to earn twice the Candy for catching Pokemon. Endgame players also have a very rare opportunity to load up on Candy XL from catching Pokemon if they are already level 40 or above. Check out all the details below to learn more about the full list of bonuses and the current Raid Bosses that will be in rotation during the event.

That should be just about everything trainers need to know to take full advantage of the Special Raid Weekend. Most players will probably want to focus on five star and Mega Raids, so be sure to use your Premium Raid Passes wisely to get the most out of the event window when it comes to the boss encounters. As always, players will be able to purchase extra Raid Passes through the game's shop for Pokecoins if they have enough saved up or at about $1 per pass unless a special discount box is released later this week.
In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the rest of the Season of Discovery. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
