New World: Blacksmith Betrayer Quest Guide
Amazon Game Studios' newest MMO, New World, gives players plenty of freedom with how they want to customize their characters and explore the world. One of the later quests in New World, titled "Blacksmith Betrayer," tasks players to hunt down a rogue blacksmith who has turned to make weapons for the corrupted.
To retaliate, fans will need to be at least level 33 and perform a direct assault on his stronghold in Corlew's mine and take out the Blacksmith. With the reward being 110.25 coins, 2,020 exp, and an Adventurers Helmet armor piece in New World.
However, players will also need to collect the blacksmiths' designs before that so the weapons can not be recreated again. These will be hidden in chests scattered throughout the mine, guarded by powerful enemies. So for New World fans needing assistance for this mission, here is how to complete the Blacksmith Betrayer quest.
Quest Beginnings
To start the quest, players will need to talk to Shui Tijong in the hills of Wolfbough. After speaking with him, the quest can be started at the mines in New World directly north from the player's location.
Chest #1
One of the first chests that can be found is by the beginning of the tunnel entrance to the mine. Players should look for a large chest under lamplight with the prompt "supply stockpile."
Chest #2
The second chest can be found towards the right side of the mine. When players see red banners, turn right and the chest will be by the wooden structure.
Chest #3
The third chest can be found in the upper right corner of the map, next to a tree stump with candles on it and a pot hanging on some wood. The prompt "provisions crate" should pop up when gamers get close.
Chest #4
Right behind the previous chest, this one will be the larger wooden chest next to the rock to the left of the torch. The prompt "Alchemy Stockpile" should pop up when gamers get close.
Chest #5
The next chest will be hidden at the end of the mining tunnel that is to the right of the previous two chests. Follow the rail tracks, and the chest will be in the back right corner labeled as a supply crate.
Chest #6
For the sixth chest, head west and find the miniature wooden structure with a single Rustheart Trapper. The chest should be hidden to the right of the entrance labeled as supply stockpile.
Chest #7For the last chest, run up the wooden walkway that is built on the rocks, across from the one with a wooden structure on top. It will be inside a chest labeled supply cache.
Master Smith McCoy
Across from the seventh chest on the bridge is Master Smith McCoy. He is at level 35 and armed with a large hammer. Wail on him as much as possible while staying wary of the Ancient Entities that will explode and give players burn damage. Once he is defeated, talk to Shui Tijong and the quest will be done.
New World is available now on PC.
