Animal Crossing: New Horizons - How to Get the Gold Axe
If Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are tired of constantly replacing all their tools, they can aim for getting the golden versions of each of them to make them last longer. Each tool has a golden version, like the golden watering can, fishing poles, and slingshots. For those looking for a golden axe, it's rather easy to get.
The Golden axe is a very durable version of the axe, made from one gold nugget and one regular axe. Players will have to craft an axe first, so they may need to speed up crafting to make it faster to do. Players can buy the axe recipe for 3,000 Nook Miles.
Some think the golden axe never breaks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but that is not verified. Most of the other golden tools break after 200 uses, so assume that this golden axe follows the same pattern.
To unlock the recipe, players have to break regular axes – and plenty of them. It doesn't matter if they are flimsy axes or regular ones, so players can fill up their inventory with flimsy axes and hack away at some other island out in the ocean. If players are lucky, they may be able to find a spider island out there while they are deforesting the world.
Once players have broken a total of 100 axes, they will gain the recipe for the golden axe. This is the easiest of the golden tools, though none of them are particularly easy to get. Now they just need to farm some golden nuggets so they can craft one for themselves. These gold nuggets can be found by hitting rocks with an axe, which is also a great way to break some more axes. Lucky for players, they only need one of these for each golden axe they wish to craft.
Now armed with their own golden axe, players can invite all their friends to their island and show it off to everyone who doesn't have one yet.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for Nintendo Switch.
