Madden NFL 21: How to Juke | Game Rant
There isn't much more satisfying in a game of Madden NFL than juking the socks off of an opponent. Whether in the new The Yard mode, or standard Madden simulation, knowing how to juke at the perfect timing can be the difference between a touchdown and a 5-yard gain.
The juke is an iconic move in football, and thus in Madden NFL 21. Whether it is Michael Vick in Madden 2004 or Lamar Jackson, the cover athlete, in the newest Madden, there are tons of great athletes that can break down the defense with one stutter. And in The Yard, toying with defenders may be the most exciting part of the game.
The juke is performed by an offensive player with the ball, using the right thumbstick. Whether playing on a PlayStation or Xbox, the right stick can be flicked to the right or left to shake away from defenders. In The Yard, which Game Rant previewed recently, the juke move adds extra flair. Players juggle the ball behind their back and flaunt in front of defenders who fall on their faces.
Flicking the stick to the left will cause the runner to juke to the left. Flicking the stick to the right makes the runner juke to the right. Controlling the stick for quick minute movements is key to the Madden simulation games, and there are also other helpful tips for how to win in The Yard.
On top of a normal juke, players can hurdle by pressing the jump button at the same moment the juke move is inputted. This will allow the player to juke and jump at the same time, effective for getting out of low tackles. The hurdle can be a cerebral move, which will help in The Yard.
Along with the juke, the stick is also used for other ball carrier moves. Players can truck right over defenders by pushing forward on the right stick. The dead leg, where players slow down for a heartbeat before running forward again, is inputted by tapping back on the right stick. Meanwhile, with the B (Xbox One) or Circle (PlayStation) button is a spin-move, the devastating twist can be pulled off on a stick as well. To spin with the stick, players hold back on the stick and spin it to the left or right, and this spin move can be even more effective than the standard button-based move.
Juking defenders in Madden NFL 21 with awesome music in the background while playing The Yard is a joy. And in MUT, Franchise, and online play, pulling of juke in the simulation Madden fun, with crowds roaring, is always satisfying.
Madden NFL 21 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
